After being on Account Talk for several months, I placed myself on the Tracker. That might spice it a bit up for me. This sideways slightly up action in equities has been good for me personally and I hope will draw more folks back into these markets, which will be even better for me as stock prices go up.
On the other hand, this country is on the brink of collapse.
I have a bunch of pet ducks on the pond in the back yard. When we run out of food, I guess I'll have to eat them!

That sounds absolutely wonderful!!
Winter is a time of rest and helps us more fully get in balance with our Planet and understand the cycles of life - the needed stages it has to go through.
It's amazing how many have storm windows simply for cosmetics. Get up to VT and you find they are real and practical.
Hopefully you have a splitter to make the job easier.

I've always lived in a place with 4 Seasons (even Alabama) but like it better more North where you can appreciate the change. When I moved in my present house 15 years prior is was 40 below -- winds blowing hard :cheesy:
I have enjoyed IL -- But traveling throughout the USA and getting back to my home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains was the ultimate.

I was referring only to the weather my friend -- as the topic of storm windows and firewood had been mentioned and brought many memories back to life.
I would save your discussion for my Thread - or Birchtree's or Country Boy's or even yours --- now that I have a sense of how you're one of 'us'.
But NO -- Rube's Home is meant to be free of that stuff. So when I say I love IL -- I mean I deeply enjoy the flat feilds that stretch forever and ever. I live in an area that is more flat - and my hour drive to work is similar and I am use to seeing fields of corn and soy beans going out as far as the eye can see.
To me - the area where I live is like the 'ocean' or a 'woods'. The soil is honestly rated 'The Best on the Globe' and when the corn comes up in the Spring -- it's very beautiful.
The Praraie Plains and the Native Americans (and how things use to be) are easy to imagine. I still have coyotes howling nearby at night.
The town Monticello - where my kids went to school and where we have gone to church since we got here -- is absolutely beautiful. It's like Mayberry (the TV show). We have down to earth -- good people -- that are wonderful. School activities are hugely supported and the caliber of 'Country People' are as good as you can find. So 'my children' have been through one of the best schools you can find and grew up in an area that's incredibly amazing.
I got a little over 8 acres -- and bought my house (mansion
) when I first relocated to IL 15 years prior. I paid $200K and could sell it within a few days for $600K 
- but I don't want to sell it. It's 100 times more beautiful with everything we did -- and it's a place I want my wife to have and my kids to always come back to.
So NO - I was keeping this one politics free
Short track racing is very popular here ,Barre, now. I grew up with Model A's running on dirt tracks around Dubuque, Ia. and a drag strip at Cordova in the 60's. My real passion though, was water skiing the glassy backwaters of the Mississippi River and houseboating. Keg beer fits in there somewhere.Similar threads
