It's time for the 2026 Guess the Dow Contest.

Guess what the closing price of the Dow will be on December 31, 2026.

We will accept your guesses and revisions until 7 PM ET Friday January 9, 2026.

Rules:

- You must have a TSP Talk forum account to enter

- Guesses should be in whole dollar amounts - no cents.

- Do not duplicate a pick already taken.

- Your guess can't be within less than 100-points of another guess (must be at least 100-points above or below prior guesses).

Other than Valkyrie, projections are positive. There were a lot more negatives last year in the contest with only 2 days left to guess. But he has some good points, inflation with recent events with the major banks and the Fed printing more money points to higher inflation and lower gains and possible losses.

On the other hand, YTD the DJIA is up 2.91%; about 30% of the Dow companies are involved significantly in AI which contributed significantly to gains in 2025 but some of the major ones are actually a drag on the index https://www.slickcharts.com/dowjones/performance. GS, UNH, IBM & VISA are up, NVDA is barely positive and APPL, CRM, MFST, CSCO are down. Almost all companies have instituted AI to some degree.

I hope & pray that we don't have a major crash
