Well, well, well... has been an interesting week-end here on the forums. I guess the
day of rage spills over everywhere.
All of this talk almost makes me want to sell everything I have, give it to the "poor" and then move into section 8 housing, get all the fantastic government support, and spend my days protesting against those that have what I had... uh, ok, maybe not...
I am proud of what I have "earned" through hard work, "learned" through mistakes, "recovered" and moved on and up... I grew up poor white trash in a trailor house and I am now living in a nice home I own making in excess of $100k. I worked hard for all of this. I have been down, up, down, and up again over the last few decades. And, I have learned a lot of lessons.
All of this "fair share" talk is politically motivated, especially the "class warfare" rhetoric. This is an interesting read about
taxing the rich, short and succinct, I like it. I will let you determine whether you think it is the truth. I think there are a lot of government handout addicts out there, who, in many cases, are fully capable of working. Sorry if that pisses you off, get over it. Live in those areas, walk the walk, then really think hard about how you can get out of that situation. You have to WANT to get out... period.
I believe liberals, who like to give this money away, are trying to keep the addicts addicted, probably so they can continue to be elected to office and have the power... er, and MONEY. I believe conservatives are more likely to give their money away (yes, a larger proportion to churches, which some say isn't "real" charity) where it will make a difference along their social/religious beliefs. Conservatives have fallen to the same power problem that many in politics have, which gave birth to the Tea Party; or as FWM likes to put it... Teahadists. Because, as everyone knows, liberals are peaceful and only conservatives can truly be evil.
Oh, someone mentioned that they haven't seen any "poor" driving Escalades and talking on a Blackberry, nor how that is possible... oh, ok, sorry. I guess around here, their are better off "poor" than were ever you are from. If the car isn't in your name, you don't have to claim it, if the money is gained illegally, then you don't have to claim it... But if you live in Section 8, receive welfare, receive WIC, children are classified Title I, children receive free breakfast and free lunch, then I can only think the USG thinks you are "poor". Then when you come by in your pimped out Cadillac, not even saying high to your kid when they get in the car because you are too busy talking on your BlackBerry; by my definition, you are not monitarily poor, but socially and family poor... I see it all the time... Look around you and open your eyes.
Truth:
Truth is subjective; ergo, your truth isn't necessarily mine and mine isn't necessarily yours. Life is all in the perception. I believe people have choice, and some have just chosen wrong.
