Any thoughts to exiting today or tomorrow? I have a lingering feeling Wednesday may be a sharp decline with Yellen speaking on the hill.
 
I'm standing pat for now but am very interested in what Yellen will say, so we will continue to monitor the indicators.

It will be interesting to see how Yellen and the Fed interpret the jobs report. Investors seem to think the numbers were too good and tapering may accelerate. Yellen, who has a reputation of being "accommodating" may address the participation rate and ease market concerns about tapering. The bond market is sure concerned about something.

So yeah, she'll have to walk a fine line. "Don't worry investors. The economy isn't strong enough for us to hasten the tapering of QE." :)
 
As we approach the deadline, looks like I'm staying "pat" with you today.

I do agree with what Tom says, Yellen could very well note that the job participation rate as concern which may help the markets out. What I fear is she could also slip out a word on increasing interest rates not long after October. That could easily send shockwaves through the market.

As much as I hate to do it, I'm out effective COB 5/6/14. It's time to cut my losses and start over...:(

Do you say that in a really loud voice though??? And what if you add word censored just before it with a pause and each of the next words with a pause and exclamation mark.i could be wrong but I think Raven might be suffering from a kinda disease called Withdrawal symptoms...just like me!

no, when it gets to that point usually it's best to just shut up and use lotion. couches can be quite comfortable to sleep on actually.
 
Here's what we do know:

1. He joined a premium service,
2. He subsequently posted his TSP trade,
3. He then posted a CENSORED notice.

So, imo, (1) he was upset about the market going north after his exit, or;

(2) He was letting readers know he can no longer speak freely.

My money is on #2; as the market move was relatively small; and in light of (the lack of) explanatory postings. Just my 2 cents.

You are very perseptive userque...no longer allowed to talk about the markets. Ok maybe just once more. Going to the market today. Will pick up milk, bread, some fruit and maybe some fixins for a salad...Uh oh gotta go. I hear sirens again!

Could "fruit" be code for the F-Fund..."milk" for C-Fund...and "bread" for G-Fund??

It just proves there are some disadvantages to belonging to a select group - abandon the elites and come back to your rabble friends. They worry so much about giving away anything for free and I find that foolish. You do what you want - in any case I'm just going to continue jabbering the way I usually do. I like making my own decisions without constraints.

Yep...all goods and services should be free. Especially goods and services provided by the companies Birchtree owns. :p
 
Well I know heat is coming - but so what. It's still a free country the last time I checked. I have never put my capital in the hands of others and never will - that's because I'm self-educated in the markets with many years with time in grade. So I'll happily remain on the perimeter or should I say the periphery and keep growing my net worth with the help of the hoofhearted that roam this board. The premium guys can keep their thoughts to themselves - I wouldn't listen anyway.
