Gave some thought to a partial entry today as C, S and I funds are all displaying a positive MACD crossover, but I think I'll wait one more day before committing. Hope I don't regret the decision...

Second IFT for September submitted. 100% G Fund, eff COB 9/20/18.

Locking in profits on an up day and heading back to the lily pad...:D

I gave some thought to moving a little to the C Fund as the chart looks to have a positive MACD crossover, but it is September (worst performing month of the year) and with rate hikes on tap next week as well as budget concerns, my gut tells me to sit this one out.

I made a little coin on the I train and am happy to have a positive September.

So I ended the trip on the I train with a gain of 0.51%. Not bad for a 3 day/25% investment in the month of September. The I fund chart still looks good with some more room to grow, so I might miss out on additional gains, but no sense in getting greedy and risk losing what I have worked so hard to gain.

So I am happy with myself. Stuck to my strategy and made a little coin along the way. With that said, I'll be sitting on the lily pad, waiting for an entry in October.

You really seem to time your exits well. Things have been so good I have been holding for a while now but I think that this might be a good time to exit with the real tariffs starting next week and the FED possibly being hawkish. We'll see. Best of luck! :smile:

Gave some thought to jumping into the market today (C Fund) which I think the charts look good with a little room to grow. However, I am thinking to wait for a positive MACD crossover in the S Fund and a better run up as the S Fund has been taking quite a beating lately. Bottom line, C Fund now with a small gain or S Fund later with potential for a big gain.

Well this drop in the market today is screaming BUY THE DIP! BUY THE DIP! but that interest rate on the 10 year bond currently at 3.222% and the VIX at 15.57% and rising is telling me the bottom is not in and to remain patient. I was looking at some 2018 weekly returns on both the C and S funds earlier today and with the exception of the past 3 weeks for the S fund, neither fund, C or S, has been down more than two weeks in a row. So maybe we go up next week, but then again??? I guess if I was still working and still able to contribute to my TSP I might take the risk, but I am only 2 years away from taking withdrawals and am not willing to risk a big loss...

Okay, I talked myself out of a move today. Stay patient and stick with the plan. After all it is what has gotten me to this point thus far.

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't make a move today as TSP was closed for the holiday. Some days it's just good to be on the lily pad. :dance:

Just wondering if this might be pay back for that great August we all had...
 
I always remember Black Monday came in October. Largest one day drop in history. Ouch! I'm always a little nervous till October is done!
