ravensfan's Account Talk

Well not much has gone right for my Ravens this year, but in every dark cloud there lies a silver lining. My Ravens beat the Steelers today 20 to 17 and that's a sweep for the season.

So the best part is that we probably just knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs...The Jets beat the Patriots today and are now in the drivers seat for the 6th and final playoff spot. All they have to do is win next week at Buffalo and Steelers will be watching the playoffs just like my Ravens...

Don't give up Steelers fans...that terrible towel can be used to dry your tears!!!~

Was thinking of maybe moving 20% to the C Fund today, but I've been riding the S train for all of December, so I might as well stand pat. Still looking at an exit on Thursday.

Awesome game. Freaked out a bit on that Upshaw penalty. Man, coulda been 27-10, but it's all good. Mallett was something else. Pretty darned impressive only being there less than 2 weeks. Hope there's no let down for the Bengals game. It sure would be nice to end on a high note, though taking care of the Steelers for the last home game is up there....

A few more like that and it could go positive for the year. :D Looks like the C Fund just barely went positive for the month. Another one like that and C will overtake the G Fund as the best fund for December. Kind of sad when G is the only one positive for the month. Tomorrow will tell. Will we extend the rally or resume the volatility to the downside?

Looking at tomorrow...Thought it was a good idea to put this sheet out..Everyone feel free to take one...they're free!!!:D:laugh:

ha! that is a good one. i think i am going to make one of those and pin it to my office door as we are entering a very busy season with many of our clients in tough economic shape. sometimes there is resistance and tears and heartbreak when we have to make some of our determinations and plan for a more realistic future. maybe that will help soften some of the blows, or at least cheer up a frazzled coworker or two.

Knowing you as I do from some of your posts, there is cause for concern when considering the tab, third from the right...So what does that say about me, having such thoughts???

well do you have boobs and are you single? you should know i don't fraternize with clients, nor can i, i actually have integrity, although i understand how that may come as a surprise.

Decided to change my allocation today, going from 100% S Fund to 45% C Fund, 40% S Fund and 15% I Fund.

I went 100% S Fund at the end of November because seasonality dictated the S Fund was the place to be for December, only to watch it consistently being out performed by both the C and I Funds. I probably should have made the switch sooner, but better late than never.

I'm thinking now that I want to remain invested at least through the first week in January before exiting.

Really hoping that nosedive in the markets at the end of the day today was just folks taking profits.

Hope tomorrow is a better day...

Hi RV. As long as we don't tank below SPX 2042 tomorrow, I think we still have a rally to finish. If it dips lower, I'll be following Bob Dylan's advice by seeking shelter from the storm.

Well, the market decided to tank below SPX 2042 today so I begrudgingly submitted my first IFT for 2016 and moved to 100% G Fund. I will probably regret the decision, especially if the market bounces back tomorrow. But after a very disappointing 2015 (-7.36% loss), enough is enough. I have been fully invested since 5 November and have watched the market go up in tiny increments and go down in big chunks.

So I will begin 2016 in the hole again. It is time to cut and run to safety until the scenario changes. I have added a few new items to my investment tool box which should help me to get back on track.

So much for this great Obama economy...:(

Tough decision to make, but you do have a whole year to make it work from here out. My bets are usually small when it comes to TSP, but that fits in with my risk tolerance. I didn't see today as a my day to throw good money after bad. Maybe it was the perfect day, but seems like there is some unfinished business in China. If today was perfect, tomorrow should be fine too.

Although I am sitting fine in the G Fund here, in our IRA's went from zero to fully invested on December 11th as our "buy and hold" portion of the portfolio. Until the end December, I didn't think we would revisit that day anytime soon and was rather proud of picking a bottom bargain price. Surprise, surprise. No plan to exit right now as they are in 2025 target date funds. Oh well, sit back relax and enjoy the flight.
