Post Your "12-Month Personal Rate of Return"

I don't know if it is beacause they changed to PIP, but I went from 54% last month to 38.6% this month. Anyway, WTF is up with the market this week and last week. I'm pissed!

I just checked my account and they've gone back to calling it personal investment performance or PIP.

Personal Investment Performance (PIP)

The rate of return earned by your entire account during the 12-month period ending on the date indicated on your annual statement or on your Account Balance page of the TSP website. The PIP is a time-weighted return that has been calculated using a modified-Deitz method (a method used by many financial institutions and an industry standard). The PIP adjusts for the distorting effects of cash flows into or out of your account. It is an estimate; therefore, your PIP may not be the same as the 12-month performance of the TSP funds, which are time-weighted returns.

I like playing Video Poker .25 cent machines... LoL... My wife loves slots.... Gambling is for those who did poorly in Math, but it sure is Fun... Las Vegas is an easy day drive from LA... My favorite casinos are near Palm Springs... My wife is a Cherokee and they have Free medical for life!!! I told her she needs to start her own casino... LoLYeah, I think they update our 12 month rates of return once a month...

Congrats Aviator Guy!
You gambling any? Where do you like to stay in LV?
Watched the poker showdown to narrow the field to the November 11 last night on ESPN, thought it would stay with the 2 tables, but it cut to Sportscenter @ 10.

26.26%
Still, that's what it was a couple weeks ago, I think this is only updated monthly.

40.46% when I checked my TSP account as of 7-15-2011

Just Maxed out my 5.5K catch up deposits too on that last pay period… WooHooo… That will be a nice bump in take home for each pay check until it starts all over next year… Age here is 54 and I can now see the light at the end of the TSP tunnel… LOL… My wife and I are headed to Las Vegas this weekend to celebrate our anniversary which is Das Gud… :):)

Welcome to the Board Jayru!
Nice returns, and this is the place to learn.

Hello, I just joined tsptalk on Friday. My 12 month personal rate of return is 25.8% but that's because I have had my account fully in L2040 since 2008. I'm trying to get educated on all of this before I start making moves. I am very interested in taking control of my TSP.

KevinD, remember this is a snapshot of the last 12 months. Mine is well above may actual earnings for 2010 and YTD. I have thought in the past the numbers were optimistic or included contributions. A few of us went through that a while back and it looks as if it really is what you earned on your TSP balance for the last 12 months. Too bad my EOY always comes out so much lower. I gotta get better at making those moves. I gotta start making some moves. Or not.

See ya over on PUI.:D

I am on the Tracker, way down near the bottom. I joined in mid May and I missed the gains at the end of June because I made a dumb second IFT. I was able to avoid the big drops in May and June. I almost always move between the S and F funds.

You must be one of those "Hidden" people or I am blind. Oh well.
