Possible Down Time and a Change This Weekend

Test, test.
0 for 3 in getting a "reply with quote" to post.
Trying a "Post Quick Reply".
Sad day on the 'ole forum without Mr. Like
R.I.P. Mr. Like

hopefully this will actually post

I really like the like function!! :D I like to like just what I like for a variety of reasons! :smile:Then, there are times I like something but can't like it for a variety of reasons...go figure.

I've never given an unlike as that's not very likable. :( But more importantly, the likes are a great positive reinforcement so what's not to like???

test test
3rd attempt to "reply with quote"
So far I'm 0 for 2
sad day on the 'ole forum without the like function!

I like this post!
(Don't like no likes!)
What's next? No emoji's? Sad day on the ole forum!

i like the likes. but if the deal is to get rid of the emoji's too, then i would make that trade. i hate that stupid banana one, and the cussing one. literally, i hate emojis, they cause me great confusion and misunderstanding and anger, even more than the idiots in the political threads.

nasa1974...Tom,

Still having some issues with the latest post links. The link takes me to the last page of the thread.

Seems we all having the same problem. I hope Tom can fix it soon. Please keep is advised on the Home Page, if possible.

It also seems that when you reply to a thread and hit "Post Quick Reply" it takes you back to the last page and then you have to click on "First" to get back to the latest and greatest.

I'm not sure why that would have changed, but perhaps some setting were reset.

I tried the settings already. It only resets the order for the page you are looking at. If you get out and go back in, it opens up at the oldest page.

Also when I first open the site I get this message:
Warning: include(404 Not Found): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found...

Thanks. I had to display errors so I can narrow down the problems. If they continue to be reported by everyone, perhaps we'll clean out this site that become a monster over the years.

By the way, I am going to wait until the weekend to install the new Like feature. We don't need another day like Monday.

ok it's back. but whenever i click on a thread i keep going to the oldest posts first and have to click on page 1 to get to the most recent posts
I'm not sure why that would have changed, but perhaps some setting were reset.

Can I change the order of posts?

You have a choice over how you view threads. When you're in a thread, look at the top bar. On the right hand side you'll see 'Display Mode'. Click on this and it lets you change how posts are ordered.
You have three choices:

Linear Mode - posts are displayed chronologically, usually from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously. It is possible to change the ordering by changing your preferences in the User CP

Threaded Mode - a tree is shown along with every post. This shows you the relationship each post has to the others. It's easy to see who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time. By clicking on a single post in the post tree, the page will show that post and all posts made in response to it.

Hybrid Mode - This is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed as in the threaded mode, but many posts are shown at the same time as in the linear modes.

the like function is cool and all, but the feature i miss the most of the top righthand area that shows the most recent posts. we getting that back eventually? no rush, as an IT guy i know how much of a hassle it is to deal with people nonstop asking the same questions :)

If I could "Like" this post, I would !!! Seems fixed now, though...

Stoplight...

Including the Java update JP? Just collecting more clues for the admin. I've been there, though not an IT type. It helps to know "what else is different since the problem started?"
PO.

I am seeing the same issue with both chrome and IE11. Win8.1

Also when I first open the site I get this message:
Warning: include(404 Not Found): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /usr/www/virtual/gambler726/www.tsptalk.com/index.php on line 54 Warning: include(): Failed opening 'http://www.tsptalk.com/php/scripts/google_analytics.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /usr/www/virtual/gambler726/www.tsptalk.com/index.php on line 54

Also before I opened the site today I installed a Java update.

Everything else is working so far.

PO
