Possible Down Time and a Change This Weekend

ok it's back. but whenever i click on a thread i keep going to the oldest posts first and have to click on page 1 to get to the most recent posts
I am seeing the same issue with both chrome and IE11. Win8.1

Also when I first open the site I get this message:
Warning: include(404 Not Found): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /usr/www/virtual/gambler726/www.tsptalk.com/index.php on line 54 Warning: include(): Failed opening 'http://www.tsptalk.com/php/scripts/google_analytics.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /usr/www/virtual/gambler726/www.tsptalk.com/index.php on line 54

Also before I opened the site today I installed a Java update.

Everything else is working so far.

PO

the like function is cool and all, but the feature i miss the most of the top righthand area that shows the most recent posts. we getting that back eventually? no rush, as an IT guy i know how much of a hassle it is to deal with people nonstop asking the same questions :)

Sorry for all of the issues this morning. Everything seemed to be working fine last night after the upgrade, and this morning everything went blank. Well, some pages.

Still an ongoing issue and I apologize for anymore downtime we may experience.

The changes have been made, and to my surprise it did not include the "Like" feature, but there is one I have my eye on that I plan to install some time this week. The question will be whether it imports our current like counts.

As usual, I will never please everyone, but it looks like there will be a way to save the Like feature, save the "friendly" URL links, and stop the Facebook issue. Sounds too good to be true to me so we'll see. If you throw enough money at a problem, a solution seems to appear.

I'm installing a replacement plug-in program tonight (hopefully) so there could be more downtime.

i don't think likes received in a premium private area should transfer to the open board, if the comments that garnered the likes aren't public why should the kudos be? it seems a little like buying votes to me.

You caught me. I'm actually paying subscribers to sign up and "like" my posts to make me feel good about myself..............can't get anything past you! :cheesy:

I could never catch up with IT, he is the "Like" MAN!

I personally don't like the like feature, so it's no big loss.

Sometimes I like what the person said, but I don't like the person

Other times I don't like what the person said but feel an obligation to like the person

Then there are those times when I don't like what the person said, but I like how they said it

Much of the time I'll like a post, only to acknowledge that I read the post, so they know I'm not ignoring them

I think you may have ended up as the most "liked" individual on TSPtalk.

I really like the like function!! :D I like to like just what I like for a variety of reasons! :smile:Then, there are times I like something but can't like it for a variety of reasons...go figure.

I've never given an unlike as that's not very likable. :( But more importantly, the likes are a great positive reinforcement so what's not to like???
