Yes, This is very interesting stuff. If you have read my earlier post's, then

your know my position in this market right now. Why try to catch falling

knifes? Yes, Eventually there will be a bottom and a big bounce. Will that

bounce be supported the next day with confirmation?


With all the problems and what I look at everyday we are nowhere near

the bottom. Don't fight the tape (trend). IT IS DOWN..... :(

Are you really a pool man? If so can you tell me why does my pool pump suddenly sound like Bob Dylan? Is it dying? I turned it off.

Kaitlinsnana, YES I AM A POOLMAN, AND YES I OWN MY OWN POOL. PHOTOGRAPH IN AVIATOR.

If your pump is making strange noises, it is not the 'per se' pump but the

motor that is attached to your pump. You would not need a "per SE" whole

new pump but a new motor. We used to replace the bearing's in the

motor "1 front + 1 rear" bearing but deemed it was logical and more

profitable to just replace the motor. Hope this helps! Any pool related

questions are welcomed by me.... Ask away... :)
 
I live in metro Atlanta, and this was the WORST mustard algae year ever. A couple of neighbors never really cleared it all summer. Is there a new algae around? Bad time for pump to quit, looks like a pond and having about twenty folks here for the weekend to do Bruiswick Stew, a southern tradition. I worry that if a child fell in wouldn't be able to see them. Bad timing.

Gail,

Mustard algae is a tough form of algae to fight. I see it every year on different people's pool's. The best way to fight this is to use a product called "mustard buster" made by "Bioguard". It works... :)

I don't advocate this website, never used it. Demonstration/Illustration and Instruction on how to use product only.

You will need to get your pump/motor fixed asap. Typical cost for a replacement motor including labor in my area is approx $400.00 for a 1 to 1 1/2 hp motor.

We are at August's Lowe's. Doesn't look good to me yet. Really there is no confirmation on which way we are going.

Seasonality may help us temporarily but what I see and hear, we are going quite abit lower.:worried:
