Poolman's Account Talk

Yea I think he has his weekend mixed up. I started getting excited there for a second until I looked at the calendar.

This Weekend Tech analysis speaker sparked a thought when he brought out the sudden increase Friday, when President Obama spoke. We have commented several times how the stocks will often Drop in the last 30 minutes and have our suspicions of behind the curtain manipulation. So when this fellow mentioned the increase, my mind went right to a movie years ago, where these three guys had been cheated by a stock mogul, and they pulled a prank on him working from the Market Floor, and the cheater ended up losing all - I can see the actors, but I can't recall their names, or even the name of the movie. I do remember it was funny ~
Anyone else with more than a flicker of memory viewed it?

Was it Trading Places?
Yes ! Don Ameche & Ralph Bellamy are the faces I could see - but the
names were gone!! The movie `Cocoon' was all that I could dredge up!
(those other two guys were inconsequential :cheesy:)
Thank you, Merlin!

Well - aren't you all glad I'm not in charge of any bodies' ( yes, bodies') money but my own !!!
I hate that part, too !

Anyway, realistic to the actual Wall Street scenario or not - it was a fun movie...

Now - is that a current something that is possibly going on with our TSP guardians ?:suspicious:

I am expecting a drop in the markets sometime soon. I'm looking for a couple hundred point drop. This may be my opportunity to step in.

I think we are forming some type of a Bubble and it will pop soon. We have been up 12 of the last 15 day's on the S&P.

We lose -85,000 job's on the job's report - Market's up

AA - Alcoa reported disappointing earnings. I think this could trigger abit of a fall here. We will see.

Like the herd, we are expecting the pullback to begin after earnings. Question is, if earnings don't meet expectations will the pullback be sooner & deeper?

Reality will come back to the market's one way or another. I don't think earnings will meet expectations for most of the companies. I am glad we are out of Bonus Season. Lot's of numbers are fudged and debt put off for a quarter to get maximum bonus's and to make the year look good. This is the quarter where Reality will set in and the Book's get straighten'd out.

Gee Poolman, you've seemed rather Bearish as of late. I know we are expecting a pullback, but at what point in time or price are you willing to jump in? I see the market trading between 1020-1230 which puts a lot of leeway in there.
