Oil Slick Stuff

Grandma, I found this about ZION closing their IPO. Do you own stock?
No, I don't - but am curious if this reads like something that might make a good investment - the price is in my range. One friend states `afraid of it,' another states `thinking about jumping on it.' (Israel is a nation of 8 thousand square miles, the surrounding Muslim/Arab nations total about 8 million.) I think it is something I'd like to do, tho. I haven't seen a prospectus. Thank you for the researching -:)

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil futures eased slightly Wednesday, but remained close to $64 a barrel, as reports of Iran's offer to let the U.K. visit the 15 naval and marine personnel it held captive helped soothe investor fears for the moment.

Oil eases on hope for Iran situation

Crude prices also see downward pressure from report showing that farmers are set to plant more corn than in last 63 years, fueled by surging ethanol production.

March 30 2007: 10:20 AM EDT

LONDON (Reuters) -- Oil fell below $67 a barrel Friday as traders speculated that their might be hope in resolving the negotiations over British navy personnel captured by Iran.
Britain said it would give "serious consideration" to a letter from Iran asking it to acknowledge that sailors had passed into Iranian waters and that it would not happen again. (More)

"Water, water every where, And all the boards did shrink; Water, water every where, Nor a drop to drink." --Samuel Taylor Coleridge, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Iran isn’t an energy-independent country.

I’m well aware that Iran produces more than 4 million barrels of oil per day, the fourth-highest production in the world. And with the near-constant reporting about Iranian crude reserves during the past six months, I find it difficult to believe that anyone could be unaware that Iran has 132 billion barrels in proven reserves--or, at least, they claim to.
