Survey: gas prices up 6 cents per gallon, to $2.61

Early daylight saving time has led to more driving and kept demand high.

March 25 2007: 3:53 PM EDT

CAMARILLO, Calif. (CNN) -- Gas prices rose nearly 6 cents per gallon of self-serve regular during the past two weeks, to $2.61, a survey said Sunday.
That's less than a third of the 20-cent-per-gallon increase that occurred during the prior two weeks, and may indicate prices are leveling off, said Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the "Lundberg Survey," which tallies prices at about 5,000 gas stations every two or three weeks.

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures rose past $63 a barrel Monday to their highest level in more than two weeks, buoyed by mounting tensions between Iran and the U.K. over the arrest of 15 British navy personnel in the Persian Gulf by Iranian forces and Iran's claims that they had illegally entered its waters.

Nnuut,
I am aware that a swing to the upside could occur at any moment if the Iran situation explodes, but I see a drop from your latest post. Is this due to excess oil supplies?

Sponser maybe this will answer your question. The price fluctuates up and down daily, unless a trend is established. What about a little profit taking? Check the chart on the link!

Crude prices ease despite worries

Oil prices edge down day after geopolitical tensions pushed it to high for year.

LONDON (Reuters) -- Oil slipped Tuesday after hitting a high for the year above $63 a barrel the previous day on tensions over Iran's nuclear plans and the detention of 15 British sailors.
A strike by workers at the French Mediterranean oil port of Fos-Lavera, now in its 14th day, has begun to hit refinery output just as the market prepares for summer gasoline demand.
