Oil Slick Stuff

Don't be surprised when the regime mandates we list gas prices by the 1/2 gallon to make it appear cheaper...
$2.00 a half gallon, huum they do this all the time with other commodities, like Coffee, Cereal, candy make the serving smaller and charge the same price, it could happen!

California’s Jerry Brown and a Solution to Gas Prices

Posted: October 8, 2012 at 6:36 am
Governors and state legislatures across the country may want to take a page from the Jerry Brown playbook to bring down gasoline prices. In his state of California, regular gas sells for more than $5 a gallon. He has mandated a change in the nature of gas supply that should bring down these prices, which is proof that the gas price issue may be one that can be solved — at least at the state level.
Governor Brown’s office announced:
The Governor directed the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to immediately allow oil refineries to make an early transition to winter-blend gasoline. Winter-blend gasoline typically isn’t sold until after October 31.
And it pointed out that:
Winter-blend gasoline is a mixture that evaporates more quickly than the gasoline sold in summer months, which takes longer to evaporate and is better for air quality during the smog season. Allowing an early transition to winter-blend gasoline could increase California’s fuel supply by up to an estimated 8-10 percent with only negligible air quality impacts.

American Politics Threatens Energy Future
by Andres Cala & Michael J. Economides
It appears that America's energy security, and by extension its national security, will worsen in the short term. Blame it on the decades old political game of empty promises, both Democrat and Republican. Energy has become an unfortunate ideological slogan trumping its enormously important role in a society and economy such as the United States.
It's disappointing that in this juncture of sluggish economic growth and high oil prices President Barack Obama and his challenger Gov. Mitt Romney insist on promising panaceas to improve America's energy future.
Both candidates are focusing on energy independence, which makes for great sound bites but is foremost unattainable, and arguably not even in America's best interest. Obama is sticking to his green energy pitch and to cutting back on oil imports, while Romney is proposing regional energy independence.

Obama Bans Drilling in Half of Alaska's 'Petroleum Reserve'

Obama's Great Alaska Shutout

Interior bans drilling on 11.5 million acres of 'petroleum reserve.'

WALL STREET JOURNAL - President Obama is campaigning as a champion of the oil and gas boom he's had nothing to do with, and even as his regulators try to stifle it. The latest example is the Interior Department's little-noticed August decision to close off from drilling nearly half of the 23.5 million acre National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska.
