Oil Slick Stuff

No NO Noe, You want to sell a convouleted process of cleanup that includes a processed synthetic gizihoulee that cost billions of dollars and gets cooperations involved with a spice of a few dozen lawyers. This is a Costley cleanup don't ya know. (Buster's comment and video of two gentlemen farmers using hay to clean up oil spills)
I know what you mean..simple is too simple..let's make it cost millions instead, the easiest and simplest and most eco-effective solutions are too inexpensive...duh!

Hay would work then you can burn it in the coal fired electrical plants!! Please don't bury it with all of the rest of the poisons!!

Sometimes you don't have to sacrifice a huge amount of gas to save your butt. We used to own a Toyota Yaris because it got 38 mpg, but Spouse didn't like it because it felt tinny and I didn't like it because of the protection factor. So we got a Volvo S40. Spouse likes it because it's turbo-charged and I like it for the safety factor. And we only lost 6 mpg! :)

I gotta ask, were guys always staring at your Yaris?

(ref: Yaris commercial from a few years ago)

I gotta answer that one, if I may, X-lentLady & PessOptimist - even tho I haven't seen the Yaris commercial.

Yes, they stared, that was June 2006, grinned & gave me `thumbs up.'
And when I had two dog crates in the back when traveling with my cats, they stared, laughed, & `Thumbs-up.' :D

Only one of my kids likes to drive it, & is the only one that will ride in it if there is not another choice. Consumer's Report hadn't done a report on it when I bought it (price factor & it was sitting on the lot) so the safety was an unknown to me at the time, though suspected. :embarrest:

There's more, PO, but you already got more than you had asked, even in fun!!

grandma, mine was a silver hatchback, what is yours? If safety wasn't such a big deal for me (I have to wear a neck brace when in a car) we'd probably still have ours. People were always telling me how fun it looked. When we first got it we had a cop pull us over just to look at it!

The EU is following our lead with equal STUPIDITY!!!

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Crude futures rallied nearly 4% on Monday, rebounding from their sharp decline last week, as the European Union's bold financial-stabilization plan reassured investors and encouraged them to buy assets perceived as risky such as commodities and stocks.
Crude for June delivery rose $2.95, or 3.9%, to $78.06 a barrel in electronic trading on Globex.

Apple red :D, two door, & automatic but only because I was cautioned that a previous knee injury might be a problem with clutching in the future...
...like a Lady Bug, but w/o the black spots :).

Does anyone know an easy way to drive south around Dallas w/o going thru it on all those clover-leafs, etc? Got another trip coming up this summer - first time I kinda dread it! :worried:

The neck brace must make riding in most any car uncomfortable, can't imagine if driving! I am praying for quick discovery for you!

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Oil futures dropped below $76 a barrel on Tuesday, after their gains in the previous session, as expectations of rising supplies dampened sentiment in the energy markets.
Crude oil for June delivery fell $1.31 to $75.49 a barrel in electronic trading on Globex.

Energy Fix

BP, subcontractors: Spill is the other guy's fault

Executives of BP America, Transocean and Halliburton get sworn in to testify at a Senate Energy hearing on the Gulf oil spill. By Steve Hargreaves, senior writerMay 11, 2010: 1:53 PM ET

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The three oil companies primarily involved in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill blamed each other Tuesday for the accident last month that left 11 workers dead and oil still spewing into the Gulf.
At a hearing before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, BP (BP), the well's owner and lead operator of the project, sought to turn attention to Transocean, which had a contract to drill the well for BP using its Deepwater Horizon drill rig.[moore]

Nnutt, did you notice everyone's pointing in a circle?
BP pointing at Transocean (his equipment broke!),
Transocean pointing at Haliburton (no, it was the cement enclosure that failed) ,
Haliburton pointing back at BP (we did it according to spec and they are in charge of specs and the contract)

Makes you tempted to give them pistols, except we need them all around in order for there to be someone around to pay.

HA!!! That's true then we could get all of them if they shot at the same time!!

Make no mistake, WE are going to pay for the cleanup. Whether it is through higher gas prices, or higher taxes, we the people will end up paying for this mess.

We were inundated by copies of articles from the Canadian press about an interview with Henry Groppi, the 80-year old head of Texas petroleum reservoir firm Groppi Long & Littell, in which he argued that natural gas prices will more than double from current levels within the next 120 days. Long known as an accurate seer of the petroleum industry, with a track record to support that claim, the initial reaction of many industry participants was: What is this man thinking?
His thesis is perfectly logical - the only question is does the timing make sense?
