Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

AGG is the ticker symbol to use to track the G fund.
Sorry WW but I don't think that's right? Close though:D
Government Securities Investments. The "G" Fund is invested in very short-term U.S. Treasury securities (bonds) guaranteed by the federal government. This is equivalent to a high-yield stable value fund, so there is no possibility of a loss of principal, and there is no risk of loss. As set forth by law, the interest paid by this fund is equal to the average rate of return on outstanding Treasury securities with four or more years to maturity. There is no ticker symbol for the G Fund.
Fixed Income Index Investments. The "F" Fund is invested in high quality securities, which track the Lehman Brothers U.S. Aggregate (LBA) bond index. This index represents a diversified group of U.S. government, corporate and mortgage-related securities. It will also perform similarly to the Vanguard Total Bond Market Index Fund (ticker symbol: VBMFX). For tracking purposes, one can either use the Vanguard Total Bond Market Index Fund (ticker symbol: VBMFX) or the IShares Lehman Bond Index (ticker symbol: AGG). Through the G and F Funds, TSP participants with low risk tolerance can avoid the stock market entirely.

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

"G" fund shares just went up BIG TIME!! WOW! We are Lemmings, again. I'm Skerd

Thanks Nnuut - I thought your remark about G fund shares going up big time meant you were tracking it some way and I didn't know of any ticker to follow it -- I think I finally understand you were referring to the number of people jumping in the fund on here!! Sometimes it's hard for this Kentucky girl to tell when you guys are joking and when I need to really pay attention!! What really scares me is I did know what "skerd" means........:worried:

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

:D Yes it was kind of an insider joke! Seems like everytime but not all of the time, when almost everyone dives to the "G" (Lilly Pad) the markets rally! Hey, bonds are not the easiest thing to understand!! I still have problems with the "F" fund. Have I told you I HATE the "F" fund?:suspicious:
Hope youall don't laugh, but can you tell me how you track "G" fund shares online? TIA! :o I'm not sure I even know enough to ask this question!!
SSAFED,

You can go the Funds Category and click G Fund. The people there can predict when the G fund would get a penny by maybe 90%+.

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

When you see this sign :ban: then you know for sure that we are joking. Without the sign, it's only a 50% chance that we might be joking.

Thats OK! just gimme a start and finish day on your sellected ban....

Mainly I just check the share prices at TSP.gov, they also list the current price of the "G" fund on the web page.

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

Still 100 % "G" fund and I think I'll stay that way today.
As you know, Discretion is the better part of valor, Stupid is as stupid does etc. (disclaimer) Now that that's been said, prepare for one hell of a rally, happens every time I say something like that!!:embarrest:

What are the thoughts on what the FED will think about this:
A market increasingly sensitive to weak data is also digesting news that the International Monetary Fund cut its forecast for U.S. economic growth this year by almost a full percentage point to 2.2%, the weakest in five years, citing a weaker housing market than previously estimated. Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

Well anyway, like I say I would much rather dodge a bullet than catch one!! Hope it works out for all of you in the market for tomorrow.;)

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

100% "F" COB Today. Almost dove into the "I" fund with the dollar down, but changed my mind, just don't trust the PPI tomorrow, so going 100% into my favorite fund!! The F'n fund!!:D

I was thinking along the same lines, and also worried about a +FV in the I today which may be starting to happen. I think you made a good move, and I'm starting to think I should have taken a little more off the table myself. Good Luck.Q

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

Well, you know it can go either way, but I think there is more chance that the PPI numbers will not look good and stimulate the "F" even though the FED wrecked
the chance of lowering rates that the "F" would like!
The "I" almost got me, still not sure about that one, but the charts look to be at the top of their channels, with the exception of the "F". What did I say?

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

Trade Balance lower for the 2nd Month.
WHO WOULD HAVE THUNK IT? Darn "F" Fund!!

Re: Nnuut's Account Talk

50% "F", 50% "I" COB Today. Just have to move somewhere. Don't follow me!
