nasa1974's Account Talk

Here is the link for the FRTIB meeting minutes from August.

"The I Fund has had another month of high trading costs, reaching 36 basis points. Ms. Ray explained that the I Fund is priced at the close of business on one day, but the trade is not executed until the following morning."

That makes absolutely no sense. First it's I fund is too expensive because people are moving in and out of it too much, so cut it down to two trades a month. If the acutal cost is due to differences from the evening to the morning, considering that the international markets are most active during our evening, the prices are going to be different every day. Plus, opening price is often lower than closing.

Well September is over and those that took a risk it paid off. :)

Sure wish the crystal ball wasn't broken it would be nice to see what October will do.

It has been a awhile since I finished a month on the positive side of the tracker (April actually). In my real account I am doing OK but I am still down 6.5% from my high point back in April. I finished September at 8.28% and the 3rd quarter at a whopping 12.23% with YTD at 6.47%. So what will the 4th quarter do????????

Good luck everyone.

Below are the fund totals from my <1% vs. Buy & Hold for August and September. I have removed the <1% is information for now. I have gotten away from how I originally did the <1% move because the market got a little squirrely. If the market was negative before noon I would do a <1% move. Well the market was getting to the point that around 3pm it might actually go positive. So I would not make a move anticipating a positive finish to the day. Basically turning it into a buy and hold account.

Anybody else have a problem with their fund allocation not transfering from paycheck to TSP? The money went somewhere because my paycheck deposit was normal.

Yep. I noticed that my contributions hadn't hit yet Friday morning but I haven't been back to see if they've shown up. Be right back...

EDIT: It's there now.

Just went back to TSP and it is not there yet. Guess I will try again in an hour.

It appears part of the problem is that NASA switched their accounting system last week from FY10 to FY11 and I still cannot get into our electronic timesheet system either. Maybe my allocation will take effect today. More buying power with the system tanking because of Big Tech Stocks. Thanks Goldman Sachs.

NASA (FYI)

Although the system seemed slow last night my payday contributions were input last night. We get paid this coming thursday. FWIW

Thanks WorkFE. I just checked this morning and my contributions took affect last night. The good thing is, since the deposit was delayed a few days it gave me more shares. :)

Last pay contribution just show up this morning.
Anyone have issue with sign in on tsp.gov.
For some reason, I have to type in my logon at least three time before it log me in. I am using safari browser.
