You ain't kidding nnuut lol....

Respect for a woman is 10/Fold Higher when you have and raise a daughter. My little 12 year old is all I have and I'd die for her. Makes me feel like an idiot how I thought about Woman in my teens and Twenties as far as respect and men are supreme.

Not so when you have a daughter.

Nothing against you Buster.

I guess I'm overly protective of my only little one. I'm teaching her serious respect and not to put up with a dumb chit guy if he does not respect her and pull his weight. :)

Thanks nnuut,

We will still have one at home. She is planning a wedding for 2011. Then the wife and I will be empty nesters. WOO HOO!!

Poolman, you are correct as a father of two daughters I was a bit over protective.

I always told my daughters that if the boyfriend showed up and honked the horn sitting in the driveway for them to come out, they would not go out on that date. If they wanted to go out, the young man had to step insde the house and say hello to the wife and myself.
Just a few simple rules.

Had nothing better to do so I started looking at how many negative trading days we have had for 2009.

We have had 44 Thursdays so far this year and the last 3 Thursdays where positive trading days for CSI. Out of the 44 Thursdays; the F Fund had 21 negative days, the C & I Funds had 14 negative days and the S Fund had 15 negative days.

Friday is not very good for staying green. The last 7 Fridays looked like this; I Fund had 7 negative Fridays, S Fund was 6 out of 7 negative, C Fund was 5 out of 7 negative and F Fund was better with 3 out of 7 negative. There have been 45 Fridays and 43 where trading days. Out of the 43 trading Fridays the F Fund had 25 negative days, C Fund had 21 negative, S Fund had 23 negative and the I Fund had 24 negative

I have not finished all the days of the week but I have attached what I have compiled. This is for the number crazies.

Take it for what it is worth. :D

Have a great day.

Today all the final preperations are being made and tomorrow is the big day for my oldest daughter. Will try and post over the weekend if I get some breathing time. If I can, maybe a picture of the newly weds. Just trying to stay out of the way and doing what I am being told to do.

Lets hope the market bucks the trend of the last 7 Fridays and finishes positive instead of on the negative side.

Good luck everybody and have a great weekend.

TSP launches campaign to boost employee participation

By Alyssa Rosenberg arosenberg@govexec.com November 16, 2009

"The Thrift Savings Plan will launch an outreach campaign to encourage new federal employees to begin contributing part of their salaries toward their retirement investments, plan officials said at a meeting in Washington on Monday...."

DOC will grow by leaps and bounds b/c of the 2010 census - but if Intermittent and temps they wont bite b/c of the vesting requirements.

Even new perm employees have to wait 3 years to be vested and keep the gubmint money so will they get in sooner or later ?

I wonder how much $ goes back to TSP (yearly) b/c of not staying the 3 years? :D

Little bit of a set back yesterday. Lets hope that today does not follow the Friday trend. Last Friday was an up day and broke 7 negative Fridays in a row. Lets start a string of positive Fridays. Good luck everybody and have a great weekend.

Hi nasa - just checking to see if you & wife survived !! :D

Hi nasa - just checking to see if you & wife survived !! :D

Thanks grandma,

We survived the weekend. The weather co-operated as well, sunny and mid 60's. The middle of November in Cleveland, Ohio can be windy, cold and snowy. The hostess at the party center said we had a good party going because with a half hour to go before closing over half the guests were still on the dance floor.

This is a first. I have been working for NASA since 1974. Never had time off on the eve of Thanksgiving.

On November 23, 2009, President Barack Obama issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, November 26, 2009, a National Day of Thanksgiving. The President encourages all the people of the United States to come together with gratitude for all we have received in the past year; to express appreciation to those whose lives enrich our own; and to share our bounty with others.

As a mark of gratitude for the service provided by Federal employees, GRC Civil service employees who report to work on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, are authorized two (2) hours of excused leave based on their start time for the day.

Telework employees scheduled to work on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 are authorized the two (2) hours of excused leave based on their start time for the day.

Essential employees are expected to remain at work to the extent that employees can be spared and such time off does not interfere with Agency operations.

Contractor employees should contact their respective management teams to see how this policy applies to them.

I JUST WANT TO WISH EVERONE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND REMEMBER OUR MEN AND WOMEN THAT ARE IN HARMS WAY TO KEEP US PROTECTED AND SAFE.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Friday sure was a shocker. November was the 3rd month in a row that the last half of the month has taken a dent out of the early profits the first half gave us. At least I finished out the month of November on the positive side.

I have attached the monthly totals for December. I got the numbers from the GovernmentExecutive.com website.
Since 2000 only 2001 and 2007 have been negative. Let's hope we have a strong finish for 2009.
Good luck everybody.

Attached are the ending totals for November >1% vs. "buy and hold". Again all funds started the year with $100,000.00. I had to delete January, February and March because the file is getting to large to attach.
