Six consequences of not raising the debt ceiling

National Journal May 27, 2011

"Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner announced on May 16 that the federal government had reached its borrowing limit. With the $14,294,000,000,000 cap on debt imposed by Congress firmly in place, the Treasury began a series of "extraordinary" measures designed to stave off a potential government default until August 2..."

Lawmakers scrutinize number of federal employees, contractors

By Emily Long elong@govexec.com May 26, 2011

"Reducing the number of federal employees could create cost savings, but any downsizing must be balanced with changes in the contractor workforce and weighed against the demands that would be placed on remaining staff, according to government observers. At a House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee hearing Thursday, lawmakers and witnesses agreed government must examine the balance of federal employees and contractors to determine how to "rightsize" the workforce. Senior executives give low marks to Obama appointees
By Erin Dian Dumbacher May 27, 2011

"A new survey shows strained relationships between senior career federal managers and executives and the political appointees they work with.
In the survey, respondents rated Obama appointees lower than those in previous administrations. Obama appointees earned a C average, or 2.0, compared with a 2.3 for those in the George W. Well the month ended strong. :D Those that hung out in the I fund did well. I will have to wait and see the final numbers but it looks like the CS&I funds will end the month on the negative side. I know that May is negative for my account. I hope June can add some more dollars to everyone's account. Good luck everybody.

I am running a little late in posting this information. I think I even forgot May. Attached are the numbers for June since 1995. The information was taken from the monthly averages from Govexec.com.

Last year the numbers were pretty bad. On average the last four years stunk and since 2000 the C fund has lost 18.9%, S fund 0.57% and the I fund 19.97%. Good luck everyone.

 well, nasa, that fund report card isn't very exciting news-
How can we play a game with enthusiasm with such a scorecard in our view ??? :(

What the heck happened yesterday? It looked like it was going to be a sell for profit day. Not unexpected after the way that May ended.
But -$2.67 for the S fund. Where did that come from?
