[h=1]"To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan" (Abraham Lincoln)[/h]Servicemen and women disabled in the line of duty trust the government will provide for them. But many return home to find themselves facing a new enemy. Enough said.

So we were in Nashville last week, and saw a GREAT show by Dust Bowl Revival, with the Grand-Niece and Hubby !

I am a fan...now they have 3 more !!! :D An intimate venue...spent some time chatting with the band members...too cool !!! :D Wife looking at their tour dates to see when we can catch another show !!!

The trombone player, Ulf, does a lot of what I call "blatty trombone"...I don't like it, but it fits in with Dust Bowl's songs...

The "Chicago" bone player, James Pankow, also can get "blatty" !!! Wife loves him, though, in the muscle T's... Go figure...

OTOH, I was trying to explain to the Wife what I meant by "blatty"...here's a Trombone Shorty cut that's smooth smooth smooth !!! Yes, Shorty can also be "blatty", but damn...this is a cool cut !!! :D

Great post! Love Timothy Schmidt from the Eagles... Loooooovvvvveeee this song. :05: I like to sing it at karaoke sometimes! I'll need to remember it next time I go. Thanks Nnutt…. nice cozy venue... I wonder where he did this performance....hummm...

Stoplight...That's a very nice cut...… love the sound.... love them horns. Nice jazz guitar near the end. :D

DBA,

Thanks !!! The guitar fades out way too fast... :worried:

For smooth trombone (did I say I used to play one, in high school ???), my all time hero is Bill Watrous...I saw him do a clinic when I was in college in 1974 ! Amazing...

OMG ! This cut is the one I keep listening to...my fav, except for the crappy trumpet player... I can't BELIEVE the range he gets !!!

Smooth smooth smooth, again !!! :D

WOW!!!! Now that was truly INSANE! Gosh is this guy still alive and where can I see him? Would love to see him in a small venue..,bar, etc. and just Drink that in! Beautiful Trombone. Watrous is Amazing!!

Now Stoplight....you never did mention you played Trombone. I used to date a Trombone player in HS. Just gotta love musicians. :D Lol... I played clarinet, dabbled with piano and was a flag during marching season. My favorite part was just listening as everyone in our 150 piece band warmed up before class, hanging out in the band hall with friends, playing in the practice rooms.... All great fun! Thanks for the awesome tunes!
