MrJohnRoss' Account Talk

link to some end of the world and starvation....don't know where you found the aricle but I don't see it. I'll have to find it. If it was not yours I apoligize for the remarks

Where in the world do you find this stuff? Not overly optimistic....Heck, try being more positive

Hi Vic,

Sometimes it's good to get various points of view from lots of different sources. I try to keep my eyes and ears open so I can see the forest instead of the trees.

I found these items to be quite interesting. Hope you did too.

Thanks for your comments!

the article was about J P morgan wanting more people on foodstamps. Any way I agree on different points of views.

Its what makes the world go around. Enjoy reading your posts

A new "Cooler" has arrived - keep your eyes on him. He is Frito 15 and has recently taken a 30% position in the S fund - that's trouble.

Re: To stay or move

JR, I would use a different color for your system. At first glance the red recorded as negative not positive.

Not sure what a "Cooler" is. Either way, it won't make any difference.

Although I do use my boss as a contrary indicator... any time he buys a stock, it's bound to go down. Maybe I should post his moves here, so you all can take short positions and make some moola.

Mmhuuuuuhhhahhaahhaaaaaa! :toung:

Hmmmm... never thought of that. Thanks for your viewpoint NASA. What color would you recommend? I will take it under advisement. (Jeez, sounds like I've been around too many lawyers. LOL!) :suspicious:

In the accounting world red is usually negative and green generally is positive. You can use any 2 colors you want. Just pointing out an observation. Nice numbers by the way.

Re: To stay or move

When you are in a casino and winning too much management will send a guy with the world's worst luck to stand next to you - the negative vibes will rub off and you turn into a loser. That's the "Cooler" - the term is based on a movie of the same name.

Sorry Birch, didn't know there was such a thing. I've led a sheltered life *haha*. Thanks for the explanation.

99.79% of participants on the Autotracker have not lost a penny so far this year. Must be a new record.

I have a feeling the apple cart is going to get tipped over soon...

There are 939 members in the AutoTracker and only 2 members are in negative territory, -0.02% and -0.08%. Not bad for going into February. Lets hope the next couple of days can get all the members into positive territory.

If today can keep looking as good as the futures come noon it may be a good day to jump ship and hop back in at a later day in the month. Then again after riding the train this long on an upward path it is hard to get off now haha. I'm just worried that one day in the near future this is going to end and I am hoping to be off the train by then and in the safety net.

What do you think John?

It's not a bad idea to lighten your exposure. I took some off the table in my other accounts for a nice, quick, 10% gain. Still holding mostly aggressive, and still 100% S Fund in the TSP. I'll only move that money when my signals tell me to. Until then, I'm going to enjoy this rocket ship ride for a while, still knowing that the day will come to pull my ejection handle.

If you eject too soon, you might kick yourself later. It's a personal decision, and if you worry too much about volatility, maybe it's worth it if it helps you sleep better at night.

Heck, even Birch sleeps at night when the market tanks. (Not sure he doesn't have nightmares tho).

Good luck!

JR
