Took the words right outta my mouth smine. That was my original plan so I'll stick to it even though the EFA is down.

Going 100% S fund.

Good luck,

Ahhhh, nice little "mini-vacation". ;)For those keeping track at home, that's only twice.................

Now where was I...............ah yes, I missed out on the rally yesterday. :X

This happens when you try to "time" the market and see that we were having one up day and then one down day and bet on having another down day. Usually one can do this 2 or 3 times before the market heads north or south. I was hoping for one more but got snookered.......................

OH well, still up for the month, that's a good thing.

I'll look to buy back into the S fund a little lower today.

Good luck,

It's Halloween time. Don't throw out those pumpkin seeds after you carve the pumkin.

How you like my costume?

Pumpkin Seeds are one of the World's Healthiest Foods
This week we celebrate the subtly sweet and nutty flavor of pumpkin seeds. With a malleable, chewy texture, pumpkin seeds are one of the most flavorful and nutritious seeds you can add to your Healthier Way of Eating. One quarter cup of pumpkin seeds provides 52% of the daily value (DV) for manganese, 46% DV for magnesium and 29% DV for iron. So, don't throw away the seeds from your Halloween pumpkin. Lightly roast them for a nutritious snack or tasty topping for salads and steamed vegetables that is easy to pack and fun to eat! Although pumpkin seeds are available year around, the autumn harvest is the time of year when they are the freshest as pumpkins are now in season.

Roasting Pumpkin Seeds the Healthy Way
While most stores sell pumpkin seeds, it is fun and easy to make your own. To do so, first remove the seeds from the pumpkin’s inner cavity, and wipe them off with a paper towel, if needed, to remove excess pulp that may have stuck to them. Spread them out evenly on a paper bag, and let them dry out overnight.
Ingredients:

[*]2 cup pumpkin seeds Optional:

[*]soy sauce
[*]amino liquid

Preheat over to 160-170°F
Place seeds on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Roast for 15-20 minute. Shake the pan several times when baking to prevent them from burning.

To enhance the “roasted” flavor, try putting a little amino liquid or soy sauce into a spray bottle and misting the seeds before roasting.
Roasting seeds at a temperature higher than 170°F will cause a breakdown of their fats and the production of free radicals.

Ahhh, come on Tech. You said the stock market is gonna drop like a blind roofer in Nov., will you think about bonds then?

Flaming continues!

BTW, for the record, my post was posted exactly the same time Spaf's warning was posted so I didn't see it. I don't want anyone to think that I was blowing off the moderators.

I also didn't "start the flaming", but I'll just let that go. ;)

Don't hold your hopes on it....inflation is rampantly moving on and the only thing that will stop it is...prices drop or personal income rises.....

We'll most likely get a 3.1% raise in Jan. I think I'll include that with my TSP returns this year. I'm now up 3.1% for the year...................:P

here Milky......read this........

2-Year Note Auction

The U.S. Treasury auctioned $20 billion of 2-year notes today with a coupon rate of 4.25 percent and a high yield of 4.365 percent.. Demand for this issue was down slightly from the previous month, given the lower bid-to-cover ratio, although this ratio remained higher than its long term average. This issue may not be considered a strong success -- given that the high yield is higher than expectations (4.357 to 4.60) prior to the auction.

Interest rates have generally picked up in the past several weeks, to some extent reflecting uncertainty over the actions of the next Fed chairman. Nominee Ben Bernanke has developed a reputation as an inflation-dove since he had voiced his concerns about deflation back in 2003. It is our belief that the dove-moniker is inappropriate, but bond investors are cautious as a bunch when it comes to inflationary worries.

When the 2-year note is higher than the federal funds rate, it usually suggests that bond investors are expecting the federal funds rate to rise. Conversely, when the 2-year note is lower than the fed funds rate, it suggests that investors are anticipating a rate cut.

Thanks for the info. If I was going to hold the F fund for very long, I might be concerned. Looks like the fed rate may be catching on the 2-year note though. I see a halt to fed increases in our future...............:u

I'm onlyin the F fund for a day and right now yields are down. :^

Now I have to figure out if I should go back to the S fund today, I think we might get a little bounce tomorrow, or go the the G fund, I think we might get the penny tomorrow also.

Decisions, decisions........................I'm betting the market jumps on Tuesday also. ;)
