If someone can make roughly 356% over a period of five years with three of those years being a heavy bear market, that's someone I would want to follow.

Someone call Warren Buffett, I think he would want tofollow too ;)

Got his number? I already have one Chief Executive that is gonna partner up with me. :^

Thanks for the comments guys, if you don't believe just watch then, like I said, I don't need to be here.......and as I told Tom, might hurt my returns by being here....

If my returns begin to suffer over time, I may have to re-think my position....

Good luck,

I'll ask Tom to post my 2004 transactions, just remember, when I sell S fund I go to G. Except for this last time anyway, I'm trying for bigger and better things. :P

Boots, Grums, Ro-Kid, Mike:

The numbers that Mike used to back test the new system prior to 6/2003 were from the actual stock prices from Vanguard Extended Market Fund. I cut and pasted them from Vanguard's website onto an Excel Spreadsheet and then e-mailed them to Mike.

This fund almost exactly approximates the Wilshire 4500 and thus Mike could test the new system accurately prior to 6/2003 when they did not have day to day S fund prices. By the way, the prices for that fund go all the way back to 1988, I think. So that is why MLK can be confident in his past back tested performance (as well as the future, knowing he's tested them in any market), etc. I hope that helps. Later

Tom-

I think I finally placed this comment in the right section? I need a balloon or something to celebrate!

LOL, thanks Joel. That's what I thought you had said, but wanted to make sure. I don't think I'll back test anymore unless I get bored. Doesn't seem to make a difference to anyone anyway. What have you done for me lately type thing. Plus, it's sort of upseting knowing whatI "could" have now if I had only known. Grrrrrrrrr........

Perhaps Wonder Woman can help you with that ballon..............

(Tom - have you got the TSP pages underneath the homepage blocked? the above link works inExplorer and Word, but not from the forum)
It's probable thattsp.gov is blocking it. That was the reason I got in trouble at my job. tsp.gov didn't like me linking to pages within their site, only to their home page. They reported me and I got investigated. The whole 9 yards. So yes, it's probably blocked. We'll have to cut and paste it into our browsers.

Wow Tom – ‘full 9 yards of investigation!’ Was that a threatening experience for you? I don’t see a warning on the site that says one can’t link to their pages. Did that come up as an issue?

Hi all, before I start getting all kinds of remarks, the spreadsheet I just posted are my "back tested" results for this year following my "new system". They will be different from my results that I have posted here following one of my other systems. This will be the one I follow from here on out as it works great in any market.

Unless of course I come up with sumtin better.......:P

Good luck,

Good luck,

They represent the S fund and the Wilshire 4500. Didn't have S fund back then remember?
I haven't been involved in the TSP till this year. Sorry that I come off doubtful, but I probably wouldn't even take my mothers word for certain things. I'm one of those "have to see with my own eyes" kind ofpeople, especially being as new to investing as I am.

I understand completely, most of my friends don't believe me either. Some know that I don't BS and have beenwith me for several months, soat least I won't be having Maiti's and playing Yahtzee in the carribean by myself in 4 years.............:^

Good luck

The investigation went OK as far as TSP goes because as soon as I realized their problem I complied. They just never asked me directly. But it opened up a can of worms with my management about how many times I accessed the site at work. It's ongoing. :x

I wish you nothing but the best! I'm very new to this also and a few months ago didnt even know how the market worked. I just dont place any faith/worth in backtesting, for a number of reasons. But I am looking forward to watching you profitin the future and hope yoursystem works out.

Just think, if there weren't any naysayers there'd be no one for you to rub it in and say 'i told you so'towhen you write us from the Caribbean! Have a mai taifor me!

Best of luck!
