Hi learning!
We (TSP) have had the G and C funds for a while. We only acquired the S and I fund in the past few years. The TSP is a "do it yourself" savings plan. With few exceptions all participants are novices to thefinancial investment system. The S fund was better last year and according to Tom (tsptalk) in 2003 less than 3% of TSP was invested in the S fund, up 43%. Is the S fund better, well in 2003 it wasbetter. now they are all running under 4% (Seetspmoney.com).
Will a run start soon? Oct? No one really knows. There is bullish and bearish sentiment both ways. I would like to see it. But the facts say until the domestic and foreign environments are more stable the best we will see is the cyclic trending market we currently have.
As you know oil, hurricanes, greed, and wars are a volatile mixture.
