Ben Stein said today that he thinks the Fed will come out and say something to spark a market rally this week (i.e. a "we're done raising rates for awhile" type comment). I expect a 1/4 point hike... but no more for the year after that - the economy is showing too many signs of weakness to endure continued rate hikes.

Yeah, I agree. I'll probably make a short term move back into the market next week.

TSP Administrative cost is about .06%....(60 cents per thousand dollars of account balance per year)......No other fund has a fee that low.... Vanguard is cheap, but still 3 times as expensive as the TSP

Thanks for the info Dogdaddy. I guess it's not a good idea to rollover my TSP account into a mutual fund when I retire. I will be leaving it in the TSP account has long as I can....

Bob Brinker just called the 2% pullback on the S&P just noise on his live radio show...

He also thinks .25% fed rate increaseis baked in the cake, a slam dunk.......

Robo, It is a good idea to leave your TSP as long as possible however, there will be a time that you will have to take it out. If you are on this board, I will assume that you are learning about investments and will most likely bring your asset bigger as time passes. Because of this, you have to start thinking about taxes after death and how it will affect the love ones you will leave behind. The enemy here is Uncle Sam. We are so involve with our investments that many of us are not aware that Uncle Sam may take away as much as 90% of everything you've built if you don't plan your estate. Transferring to IRA and or ROTH IRA may save you estate taxes and at the same time, ensure that your love ones and their future love ones benefits from you simply planning your estate. Like you, I plan to leave my TSP alone to play around with it but I am also planning on switching it to regular IRA then later to transfer it to ROTH IRA. Since there are tax implication, the method of percentage of switching will also have to be plan to maximize the tax advantage and tax compounding. Even insurance policy must be prepared on who owns it andwho will be the beneficiaries. Your home which is one of the biggest investments people have must also be looked at. Bottom line, Uncle Sam will come knocking at the door to get their fair share. Unfortunately, that will be the time that you will not be around. Unless youstart planning about yourestate,it is very possible for Uncle Sam to get 90% of your hard earned money that you've worked foryour entire life.

For your information, do you know that the our judicial system made a ruling that IRS can only take away up to 100% of someone's estate? In the past, they were allowed to take more than 100%. That is right, so the poor people who received the estate ended up having to fork more money just because there was no estate planning done.

Disaster! My internet provider has had a run of the Trogan virus!
Took me forever to get it off of my puter, I hope I got it off!

Have had a hard time with uploads and attachments. The server keeps rejecting them? I think the service is playing around with their filters, to keep the virus out of attachments.

The Kingdom of TSP posts may not have attachments???? They have been monkeying around with their server. Who knows whats going on!

Hey Pyriel! I tried to attach a gif file to a post for DMA in his account talk. My server wouldn't forward it! If you get a chance please delete these posts! There were two of them!

Oh! another. FYI. U.S. Cellular has a problem with their "Bluetooth" technology and their phones! Their phones are on the protocal of CDMA. Chrysler and other cars use GSM. USELESS! FRAUD! and don't forget "bait and switch".
