Market Talk

As I expected, the dollar began to rally yesterday. There is uncertainty next week ahead of the FOMC. Are rates going to be increased at a "measured" pace (.25%) or will the fed react a little more aggressive with a .5% hike? Perhaps even more important, what will AG have to say about the economy moving forward?

Since the TIC came in hot this week, that may act to keep the increases at their current .25% pace. Any increase in the rate will probably keep the dollar in rally mode barring any other event causing pressure tothe contrary.

On another note, the PPI and core PPI get released Tuesday (the same day the FOMC announces their rate decision). The following day (23 Mar) the CPI and core CPI get released. Thecore PPIis expected to settle down after last months read from January (.8%), but what can we expect?

I have no answers, but wanted to point out these eventsfor consideration.I will be in Key West all next week so I'm not sure I'll be posting after today till I get back.

May want to hold on tothat four leaf clover for a bit. LOL

Yes, that is the pattern. The USD will gain strength Monday and Tuesday and then start to get weak on Wednesday. If the pattern from the last five (six??) can not keep count now, FOMC rate hikes holds up.

Let you in on a little secret (wink, wink) the Fed has lost control - surprised? If you have read my post the last eight months - we knew this would happen :(.

If you want to really get serious...take notes and find the patterns. They work :D.

Good luck all! Will be going toVanutau in three weeks. We be out of touch until the first week of June (no internet access on my little island :)). I am sure you will all miss me...because I will miss you. :(

Have a great weekend.

Spaf:

Now as I have read three weeks after next Tuesday the Feds minutes will be released. Three weeks after Greenspan does his thing the minutes of the last meeting will be released. It use to be the last minutes were released when he spoke. They do it three weeks after to give us a better chance of knowing what they are going to do. So I believe you have to watch the date of the release. Incase something bad was said. That happened on the first trading day in January. :( If anyone has a different take/ speak up.

Tom is the man!

Will be an interesting upcoming week!

Will be watching PPI and Core PPI on Tuesday (I love it when they say their is no inflation-then you watch the news and everyone is complaining about the price of gas-the govt say there is no inflation - go buy stocks).

Last WEEK Kermit the Frog Gates sold - 700M of Microsoft stock. 700M. He must think the market is going up :P.
