Market Talk / June 4 - 10

Some interested economic data for friday coming up.

And........Bernanke speaks again. I wonder what goes through his mind at night while billions of dollars of investors paper gains vanish after one statement. Amazing, the whole economic world in his hands. :notrust: This is where is says I really meant something else when I said "we are entering a new transition stage".

Perhaps Mr. Bernanke missed getting on board with us all at the actual start of the huge market ride we had earlier this year, and he's evoked the proverbial Fed "DO OVER." Hope he lets us know when to jump back in too.

Al-Zarqawi killed in bombing. Futures off their worst levels of the night but still deep in the red.

I think Scotty would say at this moment after the Captain asks for more from his aging spaceship........"I'm giving all she's got Captain, its just she's an old girl and I don't know if she can give anymore!"

No BS ;)

10 yr yield ($TNX) below 5.00% and having a tough time going higher, indication of pause for rate hike? 10 yr yield only below fed rate 4 times in last 16 yrs. In recession 6 months later each time.

Capital preservation is key depending on what kind of investor you are. What a difference just four days make. Tops and bottoms are hard to pick. I have noticed in the past other members talking about picking stop loss point, but some of them are 100% still in stocks. Everyone hates a loss, but emotions can make it worse. This situation will certainly separate the men from the boys; and those you say one thing but end up doing the other. Is this a correction, start of a bear market or something worse. What to do?

I'm holding my position and my cheeks simultaneously. As long as my cheeks are protected I can handle the body blows - only now I don't need a helmut. This is just the type of action a dividend reinvestment strategy is designed to take advantage of as well as dollar cost averaging into funds - let'er roll gentleman. I got more money I can give up - it's all in the sacrifice.

1245 passed the first test earlier this morning. The second wave down isn't holding (now 1242). May see some panic selling kick in here.

Is the EFA going down 3%???? It sure is looking that a way......S&P and Wilshire morining plots looks like divebombers fixing to hit a big boat in WWII...

Some thoughts you may want to consider.

A question of doubt is amongst the many and therefore they are starting to contemplate running for the door.....

When she starts sliding, it takes a while going sideways to gain confidence in her again.....

F fund is looking strong again....

Dang the market is 5:1 decliners to gainers.....think we lost that toe hold for good and the wind is picking up......it major gulp time.....

EFA down now over 3%

The Postman always rings twice - this is simply opportunity time if you believe it's a correction rather than the beginning of another cyclical bear market. Me, I think we got the makings of a great summer like 1995 all over again. Take her down as low as she can go but watch out for the rubber band snap back. Reminds me of April'05 - that was a 900 point correction -and did the world end, no, but it did change. And the same will occur this time - change is inevitable.
