Market Talk / July 9 - 15

Excuse me folks but what exactly does WTF? mean. It doesn't sound trivial.

Ayla, I apologize for my uncanny remarks. But when you are accosted repeatedly by someone that doesn't understand the mechanisms of economics...it's like talking to the wall.

The Technician,

You do know what KMA means, right?

Actually, U.S. exports to China were up 40% from a year earlier to $4.5 billion, which was faster than the 17% growth in U.S. imports from China over the same period. The gap attributed to non-petroleum imports fell 9% from April to May to $43.2 billion. Part of that was due to a broad-based gain in U.S. exports. Gee, you'd think he'd know that, economics remedial 100.

He is posting untruths and lies.

Does that mesh with your TOS?
Come on. He posted info. You disagreed and explained why. Good. I have no evidence it was an intentional lie. No one's life is at stake here. This is where you go too far. You made your point. Now please let it go. FYI, annoying the moderators also does not "mesh" with our TOS.

Ayla -

I think it is good to have accountabilty so I don't mind the banter going on, as long as they keep it clean. Unfortunately that's where the problem comes in. It doesn't seem possible.

If you read between the BS, you can actually learn something because they are both pretty sharp.

I agree. That is probably the main reason it is so diappointing. What a waste of bandwidth when they could be saying something so much more intelligent.

I know things are going to get tense because we're dealing with people's money here but I hate when they get so childish. It seems to defocus the whole discussion, and makes me wonder if that is their purpose and if so, I resent the waste of my time.

I'll go back to lurk mode now. Not quite ready to go into ignore mode yet.

That language is usually reserved for days like this- when I find myself invested 100% in "I", and it drops

See todays comments
http://money.cnn.com/2006/07/12/markets/markets_newyork/index.htm

Seeing that the market has been mostly buoyed by energy stocks of late, its tiime they take a break....and hope they don't show up again for another 5-7 years......therefore with them taking a break, the market has nothing else to float on....so down she goes.....where's the captain of the USS Market anyways, isn't he suppose to go down with her.......

Hi! I usually don't comment if posters are making posts that are insulting or are only because one or the other doesn't like the other. Sometimes I may interject something like "Children, we must get along" or something to add a little humor to encourage us to get along, BUT the kind of disagreement today is healthy and should be encouraged. If someone disagrees with another poster's opinion it is GOOD that they work it out and see who has actually based their opinion on the facts or their analysis or the situation, that is why we are here! Anybody can be wrong, I do it all the time. No name calling , no disrespect because someone doesn't agree with the other, no flame wars, no crap. We are here to make money and it IS important. We have some very talented and knowledgeable people on this board and hundreds of others that would post that may know more than we do. Encourage these LURKERS to join our discussions by acting professional and we may benefit from their experience.
Now I feel better, I think?
Norman :D

Now, a few of you are now really trying, are you? If you are an intelligent investor, act like it!
Never mind, I quit, there is no hope here. :(

Cluck - Cluck, blah, blah. U so dangerous. The bigger danger is being out not being in the game - stay invested and be patient. Whoa Trigger.

I ment NOT really trying----solly:confused:

Techy,

I may have referred to you as Bucky Beaver once because of your constant warnings - but never once have I equated you to Chicken Little. That is how you define yourself - not my definition. But that may change.

Since you don't know if I'm invested or not, that makes you uniformed doesn't it.....but I give you a hint I'm investing with what they call "The Right Stuff".....not staying in and losing as it goes down.....

"Git that bull in the pen Trigger, kick'em if ya have ta'....(Trigger only listens to me Birchy)"

No BS!!

Techy,

I like it when we get along better - let's kiss and make up. Let's show ayla and the nnuut we are OK.

I'm ok with that, I don't like cutting on people, unless they deserve it..., some I'd rather just meet in a dark alley and beat the uknowwhat out of em.......:notrust:

but I ain't kissing ya unless you can say your a female and look as pretty as Christie Brinkley....

See ya tomorrow.....

Thanks Guys! Your banter back and forth lightened for me what was a downer check of the market close. I can always count on a lot of good banter whenever the market moves big one direction or another. That's when our Perma-bulls and Perma-bears bump heads the most.

As to this market, I'm probably going to bail out of the market. Like Ticked, I fear a whipsaw, but this is the summer which has negative bias anyway. I think I'd rather sit on the sidelines than watch a couple more days of big drop. This is an important market test.

Here is to hoping for a little dead cat bounce tommorrow to soften the blow.

That's more like it. The perma-bulls vs. the perma-bears - between 9:30 AM and 4 PM it's like the Hatfields and McCoys. When the bell rings it's back to their neutral corners.

TICKed and FundSurfer said it, we fear the whipsaw as much as anything. I'd also like to see a rally Thursday and Friday to lighten up for next week.

Favoritism - an inclination to favor some person or group.

TOS be damned?

Both you, Spaf, and Rod show blanant favoritism and allow this nonsense and allow this spinning of facts to continue.

hahaha:laugh:

You act like we are on this board in real time 24/7.

I've no time to babysit...

That's basically what we've been doing here lately.
