I was only providing you a reference, buster; as for McGlives not supporting medical marijuana, what else would there be? non-medical marijuana? The FDA classifies substances as food and drug and controls both; an inhalant for the purpose of eliciting a psychoneural response certainly would place marijuana as a drug; and that is what the FDA has determined dope to be. It does not become a non-drug just because someone says they want to toke for recreational purposes.

Oh no no no no no no. This is not permitted; in this country. The Netherlands perhaps, but not here. The only way dope can be imbibed in any form (including a brownie); is if it is an approved drug. It is not. We don't get to vote on it either; and guess what? Neither does Congress.

Dope vs. non-dope use isn't a political "issue". It's a matter solely under the purview of the FDA. Unfortunately, enforcement is done by others, and politicians can - and have - influenced that end of things....and not for the better of society or health.

Florida drivers are old. Ask BT.
 
Let people smoke, drink, eat, snort what every they want as much as they want. Just don't provide health care for them when it starts making them ill. We got way more people on this planet than the planet can support, let the really stupid ones become fertilizer, seriously.

That comment was not directed at anyone on this MB as I believe use in moderation can be medically beneficial and enjoyable. I talking about the serious crack like addicts. I don't feel sorry for those folks. You tell them the fact and they try it anyways.

Here's one for you. I have a revolver that holds 5 round, we'll call it crack. I take one round out of the cylinder and spin the cylinder. Now point the revolver at your head and pull the trigger. That one empty chamber is your chance at not getting addicted to crack. See ya later fertilizer.

Disclaimer: I love fat food, coffee, alcohol, and use to smoke. Moderation is the key but some thing that are made from Drano and anhydrous ammonia should not enter the body.

a little less than two years of this farce....

a little less than two years of this farce remain:What the eff was Obama thinking when he issued a directive to Federal prosecutors not to pursue "medical" users or dispensories of smoked marijuana?Probably just ignorant. It's not hard to believe....having had 8 years of GW.....but at least on this matter he wasn't anywhere near as insane as what Obama did. This puts us back in the realm of marketing cocaine as cough medicine....(and that probably had more benefit)....but we know better now, or do we? We can't have a country of casual drug users under the guise of self-medicating for a constellation of typical conditions which are best treated by something else. If it is the active ingredient in marijuana that is needed, growing dope in your basement, and administering it to yourself - inhaled with a burnt plant product - ad libitum, makes no sense. Go to a doctor, and your condition will be treated with the medication that best suits the condition. This will end more quickly and immediately as it began....with a republican.

Ha ha ha ! My step mom is an R.N, and I will NEVER forget the time she told me about what she saw working "in the field",(home health ) She said to me " You can't imagine the number of Americans who are on pain And other kinds of PILLS! That was in 1997. I know that in my agency, we have "several" people who are on oxycoton, valum, codon, etc,etc,etc. And get this, they are driving around on this sh*t. So I guess my point is, what's a natural drug gonna hurt? Ah, what do you care?

I understand your point but I fear you are being a little naive. We are a nation of casual drug users and many of them have a prescription from lacks Doctors or are gaming the Doctors. Of 100 people that you come into contact regularly how many of them do you think are clean as a whistle. My point is why spend billions chasing them like we did during prohibition.All those drug coming across the southern boarder is no different than all the liquor that came across the norther boarder. We are pissing in the wind. Collect the tax and light it up for all I care.

How can we tax a plant that you can grow in your backyard? All that will happen is 1) Cartels will stay in business by skirting the tax. 2) People will grow "premium" weed in their backyards - it's a lot easier and less risky than brewing your own liquor. Even an amateur can brew their own beer with a home kit and even though it just gets a tad expensive to have to buy the kit every time, plants propogate so no kit to buy after the first time.

This is not going to be a money maker for the Government.
Unfortunately, the Cartels will still make money - they will just move on to Meth or some other drug.

By the way, if this ever happens we will need to have DUI percentages for marijuana - you should not toke and drive.

I think you are right on most of this..except not everybody that wants to smoke will be able to grow..It is time consuming and troublesome to get a good harvest just for your own use...The quality farmers with grade 'A" plants is where the market will yield the tax revenue...You eluded to this as home brewers do also..so yes, there will be back yard farmers and maybe part of the legislation that can get money from these folks will be in the way of permits and licenses...

I've always said that this is the real reason it's not decriminalized. ..because there IS NO breathalyzer possible. The THC stays in the system long after the user is no longer high.
 
It's a start..

It's also a shame so many good people's lives are tarnished for having been or are in jail for a few harmless oz's of pot..while hard core drug dealers, meth pushers, crack pushers and child molesters and rapist are set free on society again....Lets not forget all the legit pharmaceuticals that are being abused and pushed by doctors..but those are legal like booze and are killing people or ruining their lives and family's lives..but it's legal...Double standards..don't just luv em..?:rolleyes::suspicious:

Here's how its gonna unfold: a) obama finishes term b) republican elected on platform that includes, among other things (cap gains tax breaks ad nauseum), getting rid of dope, again.
c) said republican closes sics the Fed prosecuters on growers/dispenseries; and that will be that.
 
I've also said that we live in opposite land. What ever "is" is the opposite of what "should be."
