JTH's Account Talk

Grandma, you might be the luckiest lady in town.
I just found the "Sentiment Survey", and it just turned to a 'Sell' tonight.
Odd, that I just found it. Been here so long. Seems to be a long lost friend. I never really thought I had a system. Just gut feelings. Just sentiment.

Yes, I had seen the Sent Survey: `sell' - one of the reasons I wanted to see the Drifter chart. Coolhand's Seven continue a `buy.'
I know `supposedly Mondays are good' but I wasn't sure what tomorrow, Friday, is supposed to be. So I will probably be watching for movements by the creators of the A-Drift and the SS; we can't observe the movements of the Sent.Survey. I've learned to tolerate a bit of a drop ...... but I'm like most everyone else - prefer drops come After I'm on shore!!!:)
Thanx, Boghie, for reminding me .....
bytheway - does your latin cacat mean what I think it means??? :))

Yeah, Grandma, I think it does...

I'll go wash my mouth out with soap before Tom sticks the bar down my throat:p

I don't think Friday / Monday things are going to matter. The next correction will probably start slowly (see Tsunami) and gain speed as da Boyz bail. I, personally, think we still have a consistent upside for a number of weeks. But, then again, Tsunami just warned on after market movement.

Don't know.

I don't think any system is really a help here. Just watch and let it (the market) decide....

Low & behold I tried my best to post-whore my way to 2000, but I'm just too tired to get it up tonight.

GrandMa, (for the benefit of others) as you know, the Axial Drifter systems are long-term systems and I had to make them this way to avoid running out of IFTs. I do enjoy Coolhand keeping an eye on the SS, which I consider to be more of a short-intermediate term system. Of the B3GC systems I think the 15 minute version has the potential to outperform all other systems but only in a trending market. However, with that comes the potential to exceed our IFT limit. I overlaid this system over 3 indexes to help mitigate the risk exceeding IFTs.

As a warning to those watching the Axial Drifters, I estimate (based on the indicators) that the systems will absorb 6% to 8% pain before giving a sell signal. It would take about 2 weeks of sideways flat trading to reduce this amount by 2%. This guestimate is based on previous backtesting I've done.

As for the B3GCS, I'm unable to estimate the percent of drop in prices it would take to trigger a sell. This is because I do not have enough 15 minute data to backtest.

Hi JTH.

155 I just stopped by 155 to remind you 155 of where I am 155 on the tracker

Your bragging jinx the markets, kiss your 155 good bye :p

:D Oh horse-hockey!! - as expected (planned?) the "fall" bounced soundly off DOW 11,000

A stellar Monday is just around the corner. Around 15 folks have recently bailed. I will kiss 155 bye-bye gladly and say hello to 145!

15 folks bailed? What a bunch of chicken pellets, all the better for my rise to fame in the tracker as the only guy who went to the top, then to the bottom and then back to the top again...

JTH--have you ever considered testing your B3GC 15 minute indicators as possible guides in trading leveraged ETFs like SSO and SDS?

I haven't, but that's mainly because I'd have to pay money to get the 15 minute data I'd need to thoroughly backtest those moving averages. In addition my brokerage account with USAA has very few bells and whistles. Perhaps someone with a more advanced account could setup the indicators to automatically trigger buy sell signals based on end of day prices.

Ouch, I was watching the Asian market's last night (and their so called worry about inflation), but I didn't think EFA would take such a big hit today.

The PIIGS scandle, looks to have taken the biggest hits today. Spain's ETF dropped 2.40% & Italy's ETF dropped 2.69%

Because of the PIIGS inability to resolve, with more bad news yet to unfold, I have been unable to commit to the I-Fund.

PIIGS and a Volcano, two disaster plots in one movie! Now playing in theatres in the EU.:worried:

edit: uh oh, it's playing in other theatres now.
