JTH's Account Talk

I can smell the stench of desperation, I realize some folks are itching to get into these markets. I'll only say this isn't a risk/reward setup I'd recommend within the TSP timeframe. I could be 1-2 days away from issuing a buy signal, but we ain't there yet and a bad entry can bleed you dry. Learning how to sit on your hands is an excellent lesson and should be the first one every investor learns.

Don't get too sunny and optimistic on me now JTH. You'll force me to go to birchtrees thread if you keep it up.

Hey now I've given everyone 2 weeks of fair warning, if you're in this market your trading against me, sucks to be you :cheesy:

Man I hope it doesn't.

I know this might sound a little weird and I know it's used frequently within the forum. The word "hope" is not a word any of us should be using when we talk about the markets and our positions. It's a dirty 4-letter word that implies a lack of conviction or belief. I've noticed certian folks who aren't doing well tend to use this word often, like I said I'm weird like that, I've grown to dislike this word.

It's not so much the word, it's more the emotions behind the word. I try to invest from a logical Spock-like perspective. The Market is emotional, therfore the investor should be the one to balance out the emotions with rational logic.

Would it be OK if I used WISH instead, or is it banned too?

Hope, Wish, Luck, those are all words used to justify a bad position, so yes they are nixed. I knew I'd get a rash of poo poo over this...

OK we all WILL use EXPECT from now on.
expect, anticipate
evaluate, pass judgment, judge
