Jkenjohnson's Account Talk

I don't get the +1's ?? The last signal posted was this...

System flipped to a buy last night (6/25/12).

Then he repeatedly says, no more signals, no more signals...

The jobs report comes out and the futures drop triple digits and now you get...

My system is still on a sell.

This was why Intrepid Timer (aka mlk_man) started tracking people's transactions several years ago, and why we now have the autotracker. Accountability!

Sorry folks but this type of stuff can give TSP Talk a bad name. Either post all of your signals, or none please.

I was thinking this everytime a new signal came out. I understand knowledge is power, but the system always seemed to flip in pre-market or even after the market was alread y +/- 1% for the morning...or at least that's when the change of signal would be posted. I get it, If I dont want to read it I dont have to look at it...but what about a newbie who sees this and thinks this is actually a valid system that they could use to earn profits?

If I'm not mistaken, the system remained on a buy for the fist quarter...was able to ride a great wave, but not sure how robust the system actually is or isn't??

I think we missed when his system actually went to a sell due to him saying he was no longer posting signals. I guess he just decided to put a little tid bit in about his system today.

With this being a public message board and no one paying Ken for his system I don't see why anyone should get bent out of shape about it. No one should be following anyone's system unless they are ok with trusting someone else with their money. I figured out account talk thread was for whatever we wanted to put into it about our account. I don't think Ken is asking for people's trust. He is just documenting what he is doing with his account in his thread... Now if this was a premium service and there was inconsistencies I could see why people would care. I honestly could care less whether he is telling us the truth or not, because at the end of the day I do what I want with my money, not what someone else is doing with theirs. I don't think he is lying, I just don't think this thread is a priority for him and with the people ragging at him he doesn't make it a point to come and update this daily. Just my two cents though...

on 7/2 flipped back to a sell. I was just letting Clester know what I was thinking - did not know the whole world was reading. I'll pm him any signal change in the future. I will comply with the original statement that I will not post the signal on this thread anymore.

Thank you. Those are my thoughts exactly.

As MrJohnRoss has told me in the past...always trade on paper when trying a new system to see how things work out before using your own money. I don't think TSP Talk is about encouraging people to come on here and follow someone exactly so they can be 100% sure they will make money. I don't make my own calls 100% off of what anyone is doing. I like to see what the majority are doing and what people have to say about the technicals. If we can't put what we want in our own account talk page then we shouldn't have them. Only approved systems should have a page approved by Tom if this is what this is going to come to...

Wow, interesting. Stroke of genius in my view! The Autotracker is a great tool and resource -- I assumed it was just something that was always intended as a basic component of TSPTalk from the start. This puts it in a whole new light for me. Accountability is key -- good story!

None will be posted. Like I said I was letting Clester know what I was thinking. My mistake.

jken,

Sorry you got the flak from my post. I was pleased to see that you were still on a sell as I incorporated your signal into my thoughts. I never took your, or anyone's, "signal" as the direction I should go. I simply used information that was provided by people I respected, both on this site and others, to get a feeling for what others are doing. I have wished you would continue to post your systems signal along with your thoughts...but, if you won't post the signal I understand. Please don't stop posting your thoughts.

As for the auto tracker providing accountability, it does do that, but it also tends to make people competitive. I don't care to join the auto tracker because I would be a competitive participant (those that are very competitive are now saying "loser" or some other derogatory term) as that detracts from my ability to make non emotion based decisions.

And finally, thanks for posting your system as long as you did. You responses to negative comments were much more civil than mine, in similar circumstances, would have been.

Don't let the negatives tear you down and best of luck with your system!

No problem. I think it would be best if I just lurk in the future and keep ALL of my thoughts to myself.

h20skier account talk

Can't stand not having my own account talk. Opened under a new name because I think several people are still harboring animosity for some reason. I was surprised at the sell off this afternoon. Maybe a correction is coming. Thoughts? To everyone who foresaw the rise to 1700 in the S&P my hat is off to you. I caught some of upside but could have made more. Oh well, that's life. I am currently 100%G.

Re: h20skier account talk

I'm gonna hang on, even though I'm very suspicious of this rally. Are you in? or out?
Unfortunately I got out a couple of weeks too early, even though my system still has a buy signal. These new highs make me nervous about getting back in. Also seasonality is a concern. Thanks for stopping by.

Them dammm "buy & holders" are making a mockery of us, ya know.

Re: h20skier account talk

The past average P/E ratio is around 15. We are now at 19, which is somewhat overbought. However, it probably will not change the momentum of this market. If we have gone up by noon, I may jump back in.
