jayhawker Account Talk

I can't stand to be out of the markets! Going half-in with 50%G, 25%S, 25%I.

Ed.

I know the feeling. But you have to have patience and make your decisions with clarity and not anxiety. I know you would be feeling very good about not being in if the market tanked yesterday. Opportunities will come again. Just gotta wait for them.

Patience is a virtue I lack. And 12% thinks the S is ripe for picking tomorrow. Good enough for me.

I'm back!

My account "disappeared" today. Tom is working on restoring all he can, but right now I've lost all my pm's and my previous post count. If you tried to send me pm's today - I didn't get them. Write again please.

Thanks!

Ed.

It's good to know you are back. I was looking for you all day because I needed to download your program, but it wasn't possible. By the way, does anyone know if something is interfering with communications these last couple of days? I am asking, because my wife and I are having lots of problems with the cable and cellular connections. We don't have a Blackberry, which went into a blackout nationwide, but we are having problems just the same. And today your account disappeared.

Poker Update:

Made it to round 2 for a free WSOP ME seat giveaway. Round 2 is this Saturday 1630 Pacific time. Top 9 play in final the next day. Also had a good run at the local Indian establishment. $60 buyin NL, played for 8 hours left with $350. Got tired and lost a big pot (my share was $150 in it) made a horrible read that disgusted me all the way home. Was easy to see but fatigue definitely played a role in it. Left a few hands later. Good time.

BTW, I tried to send you a PM but it says you can't accept them or are not setup for them. It was concerning me posting about poker in your account and whether or not I should do it here.

I'll take the reins for jayhawker and just say that any activity by you Sugar should be well contained in your OWN account talk thread.

No, no, no. Anyone (including the two faces of S&S) is welcome to post here. I love to read gambling stories!

I played a few hands of 3/6 TX Holdem at the Argosy Sunday. Didn't do anything remarkable.

Currently, I'm fascinated with a table game called "Flop Poker." It's kinda' like "Let it Ride" but the dealer flops three cards all at once instead of two cards in succession. The player can use any two of the dealer's three cards with his own three cards to make a five card poker hand. Plus, there's a pot that each player must contribute $5 to. After each hand, the player with the best five card poker hand on the table wins the pot!

The payoffs for good hands are big and the money comes in bunches. :)

I wondered why things were so quiet! I had been getting all kinds of questions in regard to TSPLookup - and then they abruptly stopped. It's probably related to my account having to be recreated last week. I'll ask Tom to look into it. Thanks for saying something!

Ed.

edit: I changed a setting in my UserCP. I can accept PM's from all users again now. Ed.

Now we're talkin'! Some fellow poker hounds. I've made a couple of final tables at the local indian casino's. It seems, when I get there though I can't get the cards to finish in the money. Plus, the heavy hitters have usually taken so much money from the beginners that they have huge stockpiles of chips and then start throwing their weight around. I need to work on my reads more.

My buddy throws a monthly Hold 'em tourney in his garage every month. We get good turn outs and usually run three tables. I usually always end up in the top three but last week I got taken out hard. I had a boat... jacks over queens, from the flop, which was J-J-Q. I had a Q-J in my hand. I slow played it because it was a "Family -pot". Went all in on the river....my heart sank when the guy to my left didn't hesitate with his, "I call". I missed my read....he had pocket queens! OUCH! First place WAS $460.

Kind of hard, if not impossible, to bet big with a full house.

Not a bad read IMO. With a queen in hand and one on the board, the odds of another player having pocket queens is about 500-1. Not a bad read - just bad fortune.

I folded my full house after the river when the 2nd Jack hit on a double paired board. I had trip 2 on a J-10-2-2 then the J on the river. He went all in for about 25$ and I knew I was beat so I folded face up. And he showed me K-J.
Funny thing about folding hands face up is that almost every time they showed me their hands. Probably the little cleavage showing didn't hurt though.

I guess I meant I didn't read the other player's tell well enough...C'est la vie. You're right though, definitely bad fortune!

So… I was at the Argosy last night playing Flop Poker. Lose, lose, lose, lose, BOOM, win, win, win, win. I tell ya’ – the money comes in bunches. I left winner and feeling great! Then, on the way home, I hit a deer on the highway. Demolished my beautiful car – and the deer. Luckily, I was not hurt. Such is life. :(
