In online poker the card sequence is always in motion. It is always changing on each round i.e flop turn river until the last person to act acts. Constant state of shuffling which means you can get any of the remaining cards in the deck at any time. Not the set sequence of B&M games. I normally like to see at least the flop before I push allin but I had him covered and was running good at that point. Although I did put in the chat window after that 10 on the river "I am destined to lose this one for sure."

Last night,
All in with a nut flush draw after the flop, badda bing badda boom, out in 12th.
I'll stop posting in here unless I do something good.

You're certainly welcome to post here. If you don't bump it up I forget that I'm supposed to be writing my deep thoughts here!

I didn't know this! How did you figure this out???

I'm still losing at the tables. Playing well and mixing up my play. The cards are against me. And maybe I need to work on eliminating my tells. :suspicious:

If you search around on the site you can usually find their shuffling procedures. Most of the major ones do it after every card. I think pokerstars still sets the deck though.

Ok... The mathematician side of me is thinking whats the difference between shuffling after every card and after each hand?

That is why when I play..its at PokerStars. :) and no they dont pay me to say that lol
I feel your pain on bad beats...last week I had QQ...all-in...guy called with 10-7...flops the straight. He had me covered but still. Week before...I have a straight..guy has two pairs...i go all-in after the turn...he calls with an 8% chance to win...and hits it so i finish 2nd.

Chem Eng,
It is a huge difference! Once the shuffle and cut are complete...the cards are set..the odds are set..the outcome is set except for betting skills. Shuffling after each card changes the odds after each card is dealt because (and correct me if I am wrong) it re-randomizes the process..i.e. they are now independent (except for the missing card(s)), whereas as with more than one card to come, the odds are dependent on the priors.

This isnt exactly true. The odds of winning a hand change drastically depending on the number of players in the hand, the number of cards turned, the number of cards burnt, et al. The odds arent set until you know how many card are going to be played.

Why do you need to randomize a deck thats already randomized?

whereas as with more than one card to come, the odds are dependent on the priors.

This is always true for strings of cards. Doesnt matter if you shuffle the deck or not.

True. It's a matter of perception. To some, the chances of there being two, three or four of the same card or the same suit in a row is less likely in a static desk. In reality, the chances are random whether the cards are re-shuffled or not.

The whole point of it all is to prevent hacking. If the cards sit predetermined it is easier to hack into. That's why they are in constant motion. Nothing to do with odds or anything else. Just trying to prevent cheating.

Ah well... that makes perfect sense. Thanks.

Out in 12th last night. Shortstacked with A-Q 14000 blinds 1-2K In the BB , 1 caller(over 200,000) and I slow play just checking. Flop 9,10.J rainbow. I push he calls with 8-10 ....brick brick. I figured he woulda called me if I push preflop and I was still willing to fold so I slowplayed.

If today's market results hold I will have made back everything I lost in last month's crash and my account will be at a new all-time high! :D

I keep neglecting to post anything here!

I've been trying to stand pat a little more. All this bouncing around between funds wasn't really paying off. As a result, I was in the right funds at the right time today and the account is going to hit another new all-time high!!! :) Moving to the G just to take a profit. :suspicious:

No one has anything positive to say about TSPLookup??? Six weeks I worked on that thing - and not a single atta-boy.

How bout some poker dribble then?

Went out in 3rd. 7 players left after the 2nd break. I have 80,000+. Big stack has close to 300,000. 1st hand 2 go allin. Get called by Big stack.Boom 2 gone. Down to 5 left. 2 more go all in. called by big stack. BOOM! 2 more gone. 3 left big stack has 750,000+ so I know he's calling me no matter what. I get Q-10off and decide to jam. He calls....shows Q-J BOOM! Im gone.
A Queen hit the flop so I probably push then anyway and still lose. %hands later it was over. That was the fastest I have seen a final table dismantled. Play as dg4 on fulltilt.net
