Nice interview James. She seemed completely oblivious to the problem that there is currently no way on the withdrawals page to start/stop/change the periodic installment payment type of withdrawals. Retirees need to know when that will be fixed.

to clarify- it is NOT an error- it's the plan. they WANT you to have to call in.

for a withdrawal: to start a NEW monthly withdrawal, there is a drop down box.

if you have a CURRENT monthly withdrawal, and want to change it- it is a TWO STEP PROCESS;

FIRST- YOU HAVE TO CALL, AND TELL THEM YOU WNAT TO CANCEL THE CURRENT MONTLY DISTRIBUTION.

SECOND- YOU HAVE TO WAIT A DAY- as she said you have to wait until the system updates overnight.

ONLY THEN- the next day- can YOU LOG BACK IN, AND YOU WILL NOW SEE A NEW DROP=DOWN BOX for requesting a monthly withdrawal.

THAT'S what they planned, and that's how it works.

I told her she needs to have a "WITHDRAWAL VIDEO - and she said she will make that happen. Might take a little bit to get done.

Good luck.

Interesting breakthrough today.
This is the first time it has crossed since back in March.

The crossover is one of many inputs into my decisions. I’m currently at 21% stocks. Am thinking to up that to 50% on Monday. Let’s see what it looks like Monday a.m.

I’m feeling much, much better about things today. We clearly have broken the downward cycle, at least for now.

With renewed confidence, I am now moving all into stocks. I missed the deadline, so this will be effective at COB Monday.

Going to:

C= 40%
S=50%
I = 10%

Wish me luck. I’m glad things have settled down.

We clearly have changed from a down cycle, to an up cycle. How long will this last? I think a good deal of time.

I hate to say it James...

But, the way those masts and the rigging look reminds me of the current market situation ;damnit :D

I've still got 40% in C/S/I and I can tell you one thing - it ain't no buying opportunity.

This has been a slow to medium speed dump. So far we haven't seen collapses like we lived in 2008/9, but the stealth dump has been awful. We kinda need a couple/few of 3% - 5% wipe outs to announce the grand finale. If that happens around now we will be -30% in the C - which is god awful. Not 2008/9 awful, but terribad. I don't want to look in the Blood Pool (S-Fund). Yowser, that fund looks like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Dude had a great time in a pool party.

It is a great time to be dollar averaging into C/S/I though - and, likely F. I've bumped up my contributions and each share has just a bit more flavor when they are cheap like this. Yummy. Donut Day!!!

I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft!

Sorry, Venkman, I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought.

Ouch!

Now I’m down almost 350k from January, and I’m still bleeding profusely. Won’t SOMEBODY decide that enough is enough???

(You know- the only reason I’m NOT on the sidelines now is they I saw a possibility for a nice bounce back. That was $150k ago. Ouch!)

James,

I feel your pain. I'm not down as much as you but I'm six figures off my high of November 2021. Just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

James and Nasa,

I know your pain well. Been there before. Wait it out and yeah…we are probably only at second base. Two more bases to go. In stock market terms…I have been looking at the recessions of the past and got a sobering look into the end of the year into 1st quarter of next year. Still see bear rallies as we head lower. Hope we bottom in the later 1st quarter of 2023. Otherwise…looks like we could wind up with a 2 year long recession. ☹️🤢

Easy money lending coming back with a vengeance. What scares me looking at past recessions…we have had no VIX spinning top, no panic volume selling, no 10 year yield decline (still rising). These are all good indications we and that dang FED have a long way to go before this mess is straightened out. 🤢😖
