Well! Much stronger market action than what I was expecting.

Kind of nice to see.

I'm still full in, so I am just going to sit back for a while and watch.

Have a great day, Ya'll!

So- I got another theory to throw out here and see if it flies. Here goes.

TODAY is my payday. My bank account gets it's deposit today, just like every other TUESDAY. It's my Agency's payday.

And it's the day that MY TSP DEPOSIT hits the stock market .

Now- stay with me..... I'm just ONE LITTLE FISH out of a big sea....BUT- there are a lot of others at my Agency who are the same as me.

And that means a TON of money flows INTO the stock market, every other Tuesday. (Today).

Causing the market to nudge up a little bit, because a million people are pouring cash into the market.

Now I'm a FG-13 (GS-13), giving like 14% of my pay into the stock funds. My theory is a lot of others are doing the same.

And I am watching, every other tuesday, and it seems, more often than not, that the market ticks up a little on the days that employees are having their money turned into stock shares.

So---- am I right? Do you think that WE have an affect , enough to be seen in a price blip?

(I guess you all are now going to tell me you get paid on a different day, and it doesn't matter).

What say you?

Hmm I work for the VA and my payday is Friday, really Thursday at midnight. I'm suprized you get paid on a Tuesday and wonder what other federal agencies do? We get paid via DFAS who also processes all the military's pay, and they get paid at the same time we do every other week.
Since the VA is the largest federal agency and the military gets paid when we do I think that would maybe make a bigger difference?
Who do you work for?

That is a really good observation!
I get paid on Thursday. But I am just a WY-09 (worker bee)
But you make a good point!
I will be watching this from now on!

I have a similar situation to tom4jean, paid Thursday overnight for Friday. That was this past Friday; tom4jean, same for you? There was a pop Friday morning. I'm curious now as to the spread across weeks and if the 'every other week' deposits correlate.

I'm paid early with direct deposit on the Saturday a week before my TSP is paid on our official Thursday payday. That Thursday payday is in the 2nd week of the biweekly for us.

I get paid the first of every month and nothing goes into my TSP. You guys are messing the system up.

...or before Stonehenge falls down like dominoes!

So just throwing this out there because I LOVE to travel, but I heard Stonehedge is one of the most disappointing tourist attractions in the world. Aside from the "Oh wow, this is an interesting landmark from ages ago, it's a pretty boring overall experience of rocks. Now, I'd still love to check it off my bucket-list and can't judge it 'til I get there, but just curious as I just read this in an article of top 10 most overrated tourist attractions on Earth.

You can't touch the stones without a behind the scenes tour, or if you claim religious reasons and celebrate the solstices with the other

Thousands Gather at Stonehenge to Welcome Summer Solstice | Time

I've been to to it during normal times, next I want to try it on a solstice.

Avebury circle nearby is much larger, and there are no ropes preventing it. I went on a roadtrip and did Avebury, Stonehenge, Winchester Cathedral, and many of the White Horses (chalk stone designs on hills, been around for 100-1000s of years, in Wiltshire) over the course of a day.

Well, shucks. I bailed out last week, just in time to miss today's recovery.

That's it. I throw my hands up in the air. I'm moving BACK into stocks. As of CLOB today, I will be at:

50% "C", 45% "S", and 5% "F" fund just for good measure.

I'm literally sitting 50K less than I was two months ago, and sitting UP 4.5% from January 1st. I guess I need thicker skin. Happens to me too many times.

Love to you all!
