I think the rule is, anybody older than you is old. Anybody younger than you is young.

Yup. Exactly.

Well, I'm throwing caution to the winds. Once again, this track upward is being incredibly resilient. So I jump off the lilly pad and jump back into the boiling water. 100% "S" today.

He did it again!

Our President verbally badmouthed China, and said he’s going to hit them with more tariffs. Stock futures now down over 2%.

Going to be a bad week-

I'm OK with it from a market standpoint, as I have been waiting for a buying opportunity for about a month

Yes.. that is called HARDBALL!! I tend to think if we were really smart, no deal would be made unless it had lots of teeth to get them if they continue to cheat! Gotta punch sometimes and our leaders have not done that in the past 20 years. The chickens are coming home to roost! it might be a bad week for the market---then again, who knows....buying opportunity???

I hope you are right about that. My concern is if the punching occurs without sufficient thinking. There's enough evidence of this to give me pause. But let's hope you are right.

It is concerning... and it will be bad for market in short term. But you do need to fight to defend yourself... no one else will fight for the US. That is a given. Gotta stand up at some point. This is a little like Game of Thrones! Except you do need strength and weaponry (economic and real weapons) and watch out for the sellouts and traitors!

May need to hunker down. I thought about exiting on Friday for this reason.

1. I have never watched "Game of Thrones".

2. I don't want this thread to get political- as I don't want to get banned, but suffice it to say that my view isn't that "he" has any clue as to what he is doing- that it's more about "me me me" than anything else. To that end, I have no idea what the end game is for trade with other nations. I DO know that Americans get hurt by imposing trade barriers. Now will those trade barriers do anything to reduce trade barriers in other nations, I don't know.

We will have to wait and see.

will there be some initial pain? why yes, even President Trump stated that in one of his early speeches. however, jobs will come back to America, putting Americans back to work, collecting a paycheck and not a welfare check which is limited by the govt is 1000% better. don't u agree?

I didn't know James was that much younger than I am, but i've always know he was more mature..:D:D:D
Good luck on your move James.

Man, if you never watched GoT I don't know what to tell you. All I gotta say is you don't know what you're missing. At the same time, if you ever do start watching, I'll envy your ability to be able to binge watch it straight to the end without having to wait weeks (years) to see how the story unfolds

We don't have HBO. Never watched GoT and probable never will. We really should get rid of cable but I would miss some of the sports channels. OH -IO.

Luckily, I'm not a sports fan. I can see where that would be a concern. But you know you can Stream games, right? I cut the cable 4 1/2 years ago and have watched nothing but Netflix and a little Amazon (Rentals, not a Prime member)
Trust me, get rid of cable and start streaming TV. It's the future.

Haven't seen GOT. I don't care for shows about Mid-Evil times. I'm more into Drama,
Right now I'm binging Heartland on Netflix. Wonderful show!
I have not missed Cable/Dish at all!

Actually, I invest in Cord Cutting related companies. ROKU, TTD and the like.

The TV world is changing. And it's only the first wave.

I agree that we need to defend ourselves economically. No question about that ... and we need to use whatever leverage we we have in order to do so.

The problem with hunkering down is as soon as I do that, the environment changes because of messages the administration puts out and the market does a 180. Meanwhile, I've eaten the losses that caused me to hunker. It's like I gotta keep my head on a swivel.

I don't know know if this is relief, or just a DEAD CAT.

What do you all think? Was this just a blip the last couple of days, or should we all bail out until things settle down after the collapse?

You know what they say- sell in May and go away.

How about it?

From here- up? Or down? And why?
