Day two with no heat. Outside it is a balmy 14 degrees F. Inside , I am trapped in the bed underneath two large dogs.

I can attest that dogs are better than blankets.

Furnace repairman reached, scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Going to be a long night.

That's crazy, I hope you get a break in the weather! I have a propane camping heater and keep some extra tanks on-hand, I've never needed them, but would sure hate to not have them and need them. It's not very big, but could easily break the chill in a bedroom.

James, you are not alone. Here at Hill AFB, UT we had a guy at work who's furnace went out on Thanksgiving. Because this is a busy time of year and because ran a propane system in a rural area up in the mountains, they couldn't get to him until Friday of the following week. Temps. were OK the 1st couple of days but then it got down into the single digits. He ended up using those space heaters to keep his pipes from freezing, not to keep himself warm. His family was not happy. Let's here it again for modern conveniences!

I had a brother that died in a motel room in the early 1950s due to them not cracking a window. The room had a gas heater, he and 2 others died because of that he was 23.

Glad that slowly , civilization is being restored. There are still 50,000 people without power in Michigan - I feel for them.

Great point, growing up with electric heaters most of my life I take things like that for granted. That reminds me to educate my kids about this, they have never lived in a gas house, they have no idea people die like this every day.

I had an unvented heater in my garage, I hated using it, it would make me sick (stomic would hurt.) On a side note, when I lived in SC many of the poorer folks used kerosene heaters, thoses things were nasty.

Growing up in Wisconsin, every Winter there were always stories about a house fire started by kerosene space heaters.

This past week has been really painful for me. I usually don't mind the little ups and downs, but last week and this week really got to me.

I bit the bullet a few minutes ago and hit the button to go into 80% "G" (with just a trace in F and C) to preserve some of the capital that is left.

I am down over 30K in a week. Too much bloodshed for me.

Soo..... if you were looking for YOUR signal to buy- it's here- because I am selling today, and I have the worst luck.

Well, OF COURSE the market has turned around.

Because JAMES sold the day before yesterday- right at the bottom.

of COURSE it's about to soar higher.

I'm telling you, folks. Watch what I do, and then YOU do the exact opposite.

It's a sure bet!!
