Intrepid_Timer's PUBLIC Account Talk

Wow. I'm working too hard. I never realized that you had your own Premium Service on TSPTALK! no less. I guess I don't read this message board nearly enough. Damn, that is too funny. Boy how things change. When did you actually start?

I have to give you props, it was talking about your original system in the "old days" that got me thinking and developing my own methods. I did learn from you although you had more patience than I did. I'm sure that has helped with the reduced number of trades. Glad to see you are doing well.

Before you know it, SarahO will be adding you to her monthly list.... Now that's about the only thing I'd find funnier.

You have been out of the loop. I started this in January. I finally finished all the details with my original system last year and had a great year. However I let the pressures of wanting to do better get to me and made some changes in mid-May. BIG mistake!! Back to the original system now.

Ole Sarah and I still go at it once in awhile at another site, but it's all good. ;)

Fires now all over Texas. Thoughts and prayers go out to my friends and family in Texas.

And of course everyone else in harm's way.....................

Yes, and most of the fire departments responding are volunteer, or are local paid, but have limited funding. I am told most can barely pay for the cost of fuel, let alone replace equipment. Thereare a lot of fundraisers going on in North Texas for them. Even the Red Cross and Salvation Army are on the front lines with mobile kitchens, cool rest areas, and passing out water (they are accepting donations also). Temps have cooled, but we now have a lot of wind and low humidity, that coupled with the dry, dry, dry landscape makes Texas a tinderbox. Until we get rain, I think the fires-threat will continue.

Why don't the victims in the localities in Texas get the same Presidential attention and borrowed funding flow that the NE victims, and the other disaster areas get?

Thats the price you pay in Texas...if you have no state income tax, thats fine when everythings quiet. QUOTE]

yes, some of us did suspect the President's denying federal assistance relief to Texas several months ago was politcally based.

...so how does no state income tax relate to denial of federal assistance?

I agree, it's not an issue of not having a state income tax.

Texas still uses volunteer fire departments in most areas. When I lived in PA, they had the same thing, volunteer fire departments.

The fact is Texas has had a huge amount of fires all over the state all this year. You can not plan for mother nature. 100,000's if not millions of acres burned, numerous home and businesses lost.

The question is what does it take for the declaration from the President to allow low interest FEMA loans and FEMA resources?

But when the big fires hit...much is left to volunteer fire fighters and praying for rain.
And then all of a sudden these "No taxes and limited gov't guys" start saying "where's the president and some borrowed gov't funding"?

You got it wrong, it's not federal government borrowed funding we want, it's the disaster declaration that allows low interest loans.

Yeah Rick Perry has the Dems Sweating down their backs and shakin' in their Cowboy Boots!

Funny Norm.
:D

But I thought that was an avatar of Perry crying to Washington DC and Obama for federal gov't assistance. (lol)

Willl throw this bone to ya though....one guy who would have me shaking would be Ron Paul if GOP establishment would get behind him.

Ron Paul CAN win and I'm going to vote for him if I get the chance.

Any help would be appreciated:
