wow...

You have got to be kidding me. What are we suppose to do, use checks? You know how long it's been since I actually wrote a check.......................

[h=1]Bank of America to charge $5 debit card fee[/h]
I know, me too! Change to your local credit union? BAC is really a rip off artist.

Wow. I thought we the people won the battle of swipe fees. Oh, is this how it works in the real world?

Dude, unless you're talking about the MTV reality show there is no real world. Anybody remember Puck? It's all just a giant financial construct built to ensure the officially sanctioned parasites can bleed you dry before you have nothing left.

Our real world makes laws that say you can't do things vice can do things. When the Wall Street slicer and dicers created instruments that no one could properly price, that's the system that kept them from being pilloried physically. One lawyer said to me "show me the law they broke". So now we tell banks they can't recover what they think are their costs through swipe fees and they say well, then we will charge someone else. How about we pass a law that says no bonuses like is being proposed for feds.

Backing the subject up a little and FWIW. I just showed the photo of the veterans cemetery to another boomer. The puzzled question was "where is the cemetery?" I asked if she saw the bird and the reply was "so, what's the point?"

My point is that different people have different perspectives and put importance on different things. I got the symbolism right away, others do not. I doubt the person I just showed this to is in the minority. Sad.

Thanks for the photo I_T.

This is a perfect example of what's wrong with America today. Tony Romo. This guy makes millions of dollars a year to play about 30 minutes of football a week. (60 minutes per game divided by two teams = 30 minutes of offense). He usually only performs at the NFL level about half the time. Shouldn't he only receive half his pay and the rest returned to the people who paid to watch?

Take that same example back to CEO's who lay off 10% of their employees, cut pension benefits for the rest, but raise their own salaries and stock options to dizzying heights....finally bankrupt a company and resign with a golden parachute often in tens of millions of dollars.
Yes, fire every CEO because they ALL do that

Didn't Jones make the investment on Romo?
Thank God I'm not a Cowboys fan, but if I were: I am not forced to buy tickets. If the teams stinks, I don't have to go to the game. Jerruh, however, has to pay the people who clean up all the food, drinks, and trash people leave behind. If the team sucks, attendance goes down, Jerry gets less from his investment.

What pisses me off, are the sweetheart deals owners get for their new stadiums. Any corners they cut to get what they want is what should be handed back to the fans.

Thanks for that cable link. I used to do the opposite to my (now) pitiful sized 21" monitor which did 1080p to see what HDTV would look like before I was given a HDTV for Christmas. I think the adapter cost about $5.

The final comment I got from my "fellow" baby boomers about your bird in the cemetary post was "I suppose my tax dollars will pay someone to clean up the bird s**t?".

Reason for posting that? I never really thought about how the "boomers" as we are stereotyped do not all think alike.
