Intrepid_Timer's PUBLIC Account Talk

I use Avast! and just upgraded to the professional edition but it found nothing on a complete scan................

I am no expert. Just a victim from a previous one. What happens with these e-mails is the virus goes in and sends e-mail to everyone on your contacts list with their spam or virus.

I have found that changing my password once a week for a few weeks, that type of action stops.

I don't think you have any damage. But, make sure you run your virus software and all that good stuff. I use CCleaner and find it to be fast and free.

Good luck,

Steve

I don't think I am on the list, but I am probably in IT's address book, and I have been getting the spam also. Unfortuantely it sounds like a worm/virus grabbed your contacts. Annoying but harmless.

The good thing is that the spam email is pretty obvious - just a one line link to a strange site. It should be easy to distinguish from anything IT does send. The bad thing is you don't want to filter it out or you'll miss the good emails.

I would suggest a new address, like add a number to the current name, or use gmail for these alerts, just until these emails die down. Then go back to the old one.

Most of the e-mails that are sent from contact list usually have "No Subject" in the titile area. To me that's the red flag that say's this is not right. My father was receiving these from me that way. I noticed I was receiveng them from IT that way as well.

Changed my password to something more difficult. Do you think this will work? I would do g-mail, but with 84 TSP contacts plus all my friends, what a pain that would be to re-enter................

From now on when I send out a transfer e-mail, I'll put "IFT 10-27-10" or what ever the current date is at the time. If anyone gets anything else, just delete it................

I_T: Gmail will import addresses!

I got the WORMS a while back and had to reformat "C" when it activated, Symantec did nothing!

Email virus

This happened to my Yahoo email once, I immediately changed my password, and nothing else happened since. Dont know if changing my password had anything to do with it though.

BTW, no golf course this weekend Frixxxx. Up near Chicago visiting my "shorty". What am I doing? Cleaning gutters and racking leaves...........no grass to mow though! :D

Season's pretty much over in your parts anyway, right?

Be safe, I hear it gets windy up there from time-to-time.....maybe drop over to the CME and visit some of my money!

Have a great weekend!

Yepper, my last day is Nov 14th. Heading back to Texas on the 21st, until at least spring. No more bad winters for me.

Not sure if we're gonna head into Chicago or not.

You have a great weekend also!

You've stayed in G, according to the tracker, although November brought new IFTs. Although you could only go to G in the last October move, you did announce a buy signal, but then you did not follow when Nov 1 arrived. Is it current?

Say what? I got a sell signal on the 26th. Nothings changed..............besides, I would never buy equities in the middle of a signal change, I would just wait for the next one.

Yea, but your last TSP IFT shown was on the 21st when you went 100% G. I understand your being out of IFTs for the month of October. I think what these guys are questioning is that if you have a "sell signal" why didn't you go to 100% F on Nov 1st when you had IFTs available. Logic says that if you would not sell F-fund if you already had it on a particular day, then you would buy F-fund if you didn't have it on the same particular day.
