IT, I'm interested in knowing how you determine your exit/entry points for ETFs when you get a new signal. It appears that you don't immediately switch positions when your signal changes.

I could be wrong but I believe he DOES move between FAS and FAZ on his signals.

Not immediately. From what I've observed recently, he generally waits until later in the day and usually gets a better price. I was just curious as to whether it was his intent to wait to get a more favorable sell/buy price or if it was just a coincidence.

I typically try to wait till later in the trading day to do my ETF trades. Then my return more closely compares to some mutual funds I also use that as you probably know, use the closely price of the fund to determine their daily return. Sometimes if the ETF I'm selling is up pretty good during the day, I'll go ahead and sell it and just buy the opposite ETF later in the day.

So in a nutshell, I really have no exit\entry points during the day. Just usually do it later in the day after the 2:30-3:00pm sell off or jump. Was hoping the sell off would continue this afternoon, but it didn't............:(

I intend on remaining out of TSP equities and even going short outside of the TSP into the election.

This runup is nutz. Nothing is looking good (unemployment, housing foreclosures); and eventually the economy will not run on hot air alone.

The boogeyman (i.e., me) strikes again

I just doubled my TSP from 2 to 4% S and I fund, and reduced position in F also:

Within hours after the move. . . . all of the above funds went sharply negative....

The boogeyman (i.e., me) strikes again.

Thanks for the heads up, IT. I really don't know what to do. With both the VIX and SPY up the past few sessions, statistically speaking that's usually a good time to sell/short. Problem is my timing model is trying to go long on the VIX strength in a bullish market. I'd feel better if SPY took a dump this last hour. Otherwise, I feel like as soon as I go long, it'll dump and I'll be a bag holder. I dislike consolidation periods b/c you're never quite sure which way it'll break.

got your update emails today, thanks, again.

so fas and faz are russel 1000 financial 3x etfs?

without asking you to divulge trade secrets, why are these a primary market indicator? what triggers your buy/sell? what percentage of your overall portfolio (free trading and .gov limited) do these pull when you make a move?

how much depends on bank operations and how much on anticipation of servicing profits not trading risk.

nice returns.

fascinated, and a gambler here. talk me into it.

sdouglas3 (Steve), Do you have an opinion / harm on the virus emails that you mentioned? I did receive two emails this morning from his email account and opened one of them before I realized that it did not look right after I clicked the hot link to the blog. Do you have any suggestions or did I already do the damage or is it just spam in your opinion?
Thanks, Steve

I am no expert. Just a victim from a previous one. What happens with these e-mails is the virus goes in and sends e-mail to everyone on your contacts list with their spam or virus.

I have found that changing my password once a week for a few weeks, that type of action stops.

I don't think you have any damage. But, make sure you run your virus software and all that good stuff. I use CCleaner and find it to be fast and free.

Good luck,

Steve

Hi all, yes it appears someone has hacked into my e-mail account and is sending out spam. I'm working on correcting the problem. I can still change my password so this is good. Apparently some aren't so lucky as the hacker changes their password and they can't access their account. I've had this account since the mid-80's with no problems before. This just happened after I set up this e-mail list. Coincidence or not, I'm not sure. I know their is one person on this site who would probably do it if he could............

Hopefully I can get this corrected and won't have to start another account. If I do, I will definitely be more scrutinizing of the people I add............
