Intrepid_Timer's PUBLIC Account Talk

Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example instead of his advice.

― Charles F. Kettering

Yeah....well....my dad always leaned towards reverse psychology. When he would correct us kids..I'd shout back.."BUT YOU DID IT!" and then he'd give me the evil eye glare and say, "do as I say, not as I do....if you know what's good for you."

Guess I knew what that meant! :D

I just received one of these emails from "GreenWinick Lawyers". Be careful out there..................

ATTORNEYS AT LAW

Notice to Appear,
To view copy of the court notice click here. Please, read it thoroughly. Note: If you do not attend the hearing the judge may hear the case in your absence.

The file the link will download onto your computer IS NOT a summons to appear in court, but Zip or compressed file (GreenWinick_Portmore.zip), which contains a malicious file that will infect your Windows computer if you open it.
Once your computer has become infected with this malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.

Never open a zip from anyone unless you've been in contact with them specifically about what they are sending you. Even if it comes from someone you know, their email account could have been hacked and someone else is sending it. Same with many links....

Cough, cough, cough.............dusty in here. If anyone is looking for a XMAS gift(s) for the DIY'er in their life, Black and Decker has a 20V, rechargeable system with various interchangeable attachments that seems pretty cool. If I was a contractor I wouldn't use them, but I'm not..............and they are available at Walmart!! :D

BLACK+DECKER

Oh, they also have the corded type....................

IT, Be mindful of battery storage. They are not cheap and you expose them to the elements you will replace them every year. I have the Craftsman version. Handy to have around, will do most short duration jobs. (Power saw and Sawsall)

So not good to store them in an unheated garage? Guess I'll need to store them in the basement. That's "if" I get them for Xmas of course............;)

Don't keep them in an open windowed windowsill either. I just had s dewwalt go bad because rain blew in and went down inside last spring. If you do get em wet open the case if you can and dry them out. Lesson learned.
