Could be worse. They could decide to cut our salary across the board.

Instead they are going to raise your TAXES temporally by 20%. I think that might be cancelled.

Stop voting for people with your heart. Emotions should be dropped prior to the ballot box then vote with your wallet/finances.

I really do feel for some of you. Mostly the ones who made the right choice but got effed anyways.

I for one honestly dont care if they cut 20% of my military base pay, as long as the money really help the country. I think if we all accept that our country is in a debt crisis and willing to give a little for a better cause then it might be just in a step of the right direction.

What I cant fathom is how those all those congressman can talk about or cut everyone pay when they havent even taken consideration to cutting their pay check. They work less than 80% of the country, taking the most vacation and yet they get paid the most to have their thumb up their ass "trying" to do what's right for the country.

I feel if the goverment cuts everything it pays out by 5% prices would drop 5%. Reverse cost of living. Each time we got a cola pay raise insurance and other things we paid for went up. Cut cola but keep step increases for the guys. Step increases were the real raises.

Doesnt cola = cost of living adjustment? Which would imply it would be trialing actual cost of living, not leading as u suggest

Sorry but yes. If cutting goverment spending doesn't lower prices as the ecconomy goes down some with it. IE: less money to spend on gas and everything else prices should drop. Trickle down ecconomy.

Here's an example on government increases cause prices to increase. I worked in a remote location for DOD. We had van pools where everyone would give $55.00 a month. So the goverment started to subsidize van pools at $137.00 a person. The regular van pools were outlawed and the new van pools asked for $35.00 a person to help with higher gas prices. When gas prices went back down the extra money was keep in an account forthe driver for future unforseen costs. So the goverment saved you $15.00 and paid $82.00 more.Where the extra money go? Into the profit of the van providers under gov. contract.
