Here's14U's Account Talk

Good Morning;:)
I think a lot depends on what the US dollar does. It seems that when the dollar falls the stock markets do well, when the dollar rises they go down. In that way the US dollar seems to act like the $VIX, as a fear indicator. When investors are fearful they buy the dollar pushing its value up and vice versa.

I’ve decided to just list those funds and indicators that TSP’ers would be interested in here at TSPtalk. I’ll be listing some ETF’s over at Tom’s new website, ETFTalk.com in the near future.
I have listed below prices, and moving averages for, C, S, I, $BPNYA (Bullish Percent Index), $VIX (Volatility Index), and $USD (US Dollar).

The F-fund seems to work best with the Slow Stochastics indicator so I have listed the numbers relating to the fast line and the slow line. When the numbers are above 80 then cross below 80, that would be a sell signal. When the numbers are below 20 then cross above 20 that would be a buy signal. If the number stays above 80 or below 20 for 3 or more days, they are “embedded“. When embedded the F should be gaining momentum either upward or downward. Currently the F fund slow stochastic indicator has come down to near a buy point but more time is needed to see if a bottom is forming.
$BPNYA (NYSE Bullish Percent Index) is now considered bullish, above 30%, and the current percentage reading @ 40.94%, is still above its 5dyma @ 40.52% and above its 20dyma @ 26.64%. NYSE Bullish Percent Index. simply put, is the percentage of all NYSE stocks on current buy signals from all NYSE Point and Figure charts. A reading moving from below 30% to above 30% is bullish. A reading above 70% is overbought, below 30% is oversold. A buy signal has officially triggered as the reading is now above 30%.
I’m currently 100G for the rest of March. Good Luck to all! !

As far as the C, S and I funds are concerned their prices have fallen beneath their respective 5dyma’s, not a good sign. On the other hand though, their 5dyma’s are still well above their respective 20dyma’s so the bulls can still still rally here if we get some good news. Earnings will be lousy but they may be already factored in so basically anything can happen now.

Good Morning;
I think a lot depends on what the US dollar does. It seems that when the dollar falls the stock markets do well, when the dollar rises they go down. In that way the US dollar seems to act like the $VIX, as a fear indicator. When investors are fearful they buy the dollar pushing its value up and vice versa.
As far as the C, S and I funds are concerned their prices have fallen beneath their respective 5dyma’s, not a good sign. On the other hand though, their 5dyma’s are still well above their respective 20dyma’s so the bulls can still still rally here if we get some good news. Earnings will be lousy but they may be already factored in so basically I’m still bullish but anything can happen now.

The VIX is currently sitting on support. If it breaks to the downside the stock market may move up nicely next week.

Currently the F fund slow stochastic indicator has crossed to the upside.
$BPNYA (NYSE Bullish Percent Index) is now considered bullish, above 30%, and the current percentage reading @ 52.67%, is still above its 5dyma @ 50.62% and above its 20dyma @ 38.68%. During the last rally the $BPNYA reached 66% before falling.
I’m currently 50S, 50I in the tracker. Good Luck to all! !

Good Morning;

I will be moving from 50I, 50S to 100F in anticipation of a sell off in stocks. The $BPNYA reached 66% during the last rally and currently stands at about 64.30%. I don’t know if it can move to much higher. The F-fund may be a safe haven for investors should stocks sell off.

I have listed below prices, and moving averages for, C, S, I, $BPNYA (Bullish Percent Index), $VIX (Volatility Index), and $USD (US Dollar). The VIX is currently sitting on support. If it breaks to the downside the stock market may move up nicely next week.

The F fund slow stochastic indicator is still bullish at this time.
$BPNYA (NYSE Bullish Percent Index) is now considered bullish, above 30%, and the current percentage reading @ 64.30%, is still above its 5dyma @ 61.06% and above its 20dyma @ 49.07%. During the last rally the $BPNYA reached 66% before falling.
Moving to 100F today for tomorrow. Good Luck to all! !

Good Morning;

C, S and I prices have moved below their respective 5dyma’s, that’s the bad news. The good news is these 5dyma’s are still above their respective 20dyma’s. The MACD’s though look toppy here so I decided to bow out yesterday, and go into the F-fund for a while. Tops can take time to form, so I may have rushed it a bit but prices can fall fast as seen by yesterday’s action. Sometimes you take what you can get and just wait for the next opportunity.

I have listed below prices, and moving averages for, C, S, I, $BPNYA (Bullish Percent Index), $VIX (Volatility Index), and $USD (US Dollar). The VIX is currently sitting on support. If it breaks to the downside the stock market may move up nicely next week.

The F fund slow stochastic indicator is still bullish at this time.
$BPNYA (NYSE Bullish Percent Index) is now considered bullish, above 30%, and the current percentage reading @ 61.58%, is still above its 5dyma @ 61.23% and above its 20dyma @ 50.48%. NYSE Bullish Percent Index. simply put, is the percentage of all NYSE stocks on current buy signals from all NYSE Point and Figure charts. A reading moving from below 30% to above 30% is bullish. Currently I’m 100F in the tracker.. Good Luck to all! !

Excellent point of view and strategy. New ops are always in the making. :)

As long as you all call the next dip, that is...

At 11:40 this morning, its near impossible to tell what the heck today's closing bell will look like. Leaves me still waiting for that elusive entry point.

I think I see an oscillation forming near 840-850. If what I think is happening is true, sp500 is going nowhere for very long time.

Good Morning;:)
A danger signal has occurred which has a good record of being right concerning the Bullish Percent Index. Yesterday’s percent reading has moved below its respective 5dyema. Now this is not foolproof and it is possible for the market to move a little higher here, but if you look at $BPNYA at stockcharts.com with Bollinger Bands, MACD and the 5dyema (exponential) moving average you will see the 5dyema has in fact moved below it yesterday. Back around March 9th the $BPNYA moved above its 5dyma giving a great buy signal, now the opposite is happening and don’t forget the last rally reached 66% then fell, this rally has reached 64.30% and is beginning to fall so you have to be very cautious here. Looks like I got out a little early but I do feel comfortable being out at this time. Now if only the F-fund could get its act together!

I have listed below prices, and moving averages for, C, S, I, $BPNYA (Bullish Percent Index), $VIX (Volatility Index), and $USD (US Dollar). The $VIX is currently channeling downward which is good but with stocks looking toppy here according to the $BPNYA, you have to wonder if the $VIX downtrend is coming to an end.

The F-fund seems to work best with the Slow Stochastics indicator so I have listed the numbers relating to the fast line and the slow line. When the numbers are above 80 then cross below 80, that would be a sell signal. When the numbers are below 20 then cross above 20 that would be a buy signal. $BPNYA (NYSE Bullish Percent Index) is now considered dangerous with the current percentage reading @ 59.65%, which is now below its 5dyema @ 60.71% and still above its rising 20dyma @ 51.63%. NYSE Bullish Percent Index. simply put, is the percentage of all NYSE stocks on current buy signals from all NYSE Point and Figure charts. A reading moving from below 30% to above 30% is bullish. A reading above 70% is overbought, below 30% is oversold. In my opinion this last buy signal is running on fumes. During the last rally the $BPNYA reached 66% before falling. A few days ago it hit 64.30% and is beginning to fall. Time to go short??!

Good Morning;:)
The Bullish Percent Index reading has moved back above its 5dyema. It’s possible for the market to move a little higher here but as we close in on 66% (the last reading where the $BPNYA peaked) caution is warranted IMO. The Index currently stands at 61.05%.
