Handballer's Account Talk

Posted at OhMyGov website:

"Dear Thrift Saver,
(We just love) the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) website. It is one of the of the top 50,000 most visited sites in the world and is currently ranked 3,316 out of millions of websites in America. And yes it's true that the TSP website will be revamped early in 2010."

OhMyGod, I thought the top 50,000 were all porn sites! This economy must really suck now.

Effective Tuesday December 2nd my IFT will be as follows:

G-30%, F-10%, C-20%, S-10%, and I-30%. I may of made this IFT too early.

Today I moved up the tracter from 135 to 87, my highest ever. I also gained .87%. Its a wonderfull day.

IFT #8 for this month:

G 68% (prev 46%)
F 0%
C 10% (prev 32%)
S 17%
I 5%

Still hoping for a 7% gain this year. Merry Christmas to one and all.

There are many places I'd still love to visit - but Alaska is by far on the top of the list.

You're fortunate to be able to know Nature so purely and with such incredible abundance.

Thanks for serving Handballer and for everything else I'm sure you've done but we have no clue.

Have a wonderful Christmas and hoping the best of health.

Steady

Thanks for the kind words Steady. Yes, Alaska is wonderful. I was watching the Food Network on TV tonight and it highlighted several restaurants in the Fairbanks area (about eight hour drive from here). North Pole is a few miles away. When the weather warms we are driving there again for a weekend. We know where to eat now.

My granddaughter was born here near seven years ago. I visited my daughter here for several years prior and visited two or three times a years since. I retired last year in October and moved here the next day. My grandchild makes me very happy. My daughter is great too.

Merry Christmas to you and your family also. Take care.

My words are 'genuine' -- as are yours.

I'm just thrilled I can head out with everything being good and I'm glad everything worked out.

You're a good man Handballer -- I admire you and it simply took me awhile to discover what a real treasure you are.

Merry Christmas to you too -- and may you and your family know His richest blessings like never before !!

Steady

I have my 7% for this year. Now I need to hold it and hope it grows another %. To the 135 or so people on the tracker ahead of me, next year I plan to be ahead of you.:D

In the meantime, I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a great year in 2010.

Ended the year with between 6 and 7%.

Looks like I dropped off the Tracker. The other day I had 1.something%. Perhaps I should not of made that remark above second para.:suspicious:

COB 1/22/2010 #74 on the Tracker. I'd be happy to hold that position for the year with at least a 7% gain.

CORRECTION: #72 on the Tracker and will be happy to hold that position for the year with at least a 8% gain. Course I will continue to hold large amounts of G fund and that will affect my position and performance.:cheesy:

Congratulations on your current Autotracker position. I hope you keep your position and get the gain you want.

I am new to tsptalk. I will learn a lot from the forums and hope to add a little more to my husband and my retirement account too.

Bluehenge.

Thank you. I hope the two of you do very well with your TSP. I'm in my second year of retirement and enjoy it. Looks like will leapgrog a lot of folks on the Tracker today. One was a hundred miles ahead of me on the tracker last year. :cheesy:

Hi Grandma and Handballer! I hope you, yours and your accounts are doing well.

Handballer,
This partial message from Bluehenge made me reflect on you last night as well. I'd have to say there are very few people that would ever even consider moving to some area close to the North Pole ... and the more I think about that is all the more I realize what incredible committment and integrity you must have. Seriously that's just amazing!! and your daughter is very fortunate to have a father like you.

Also ~~ my special thanks for all your years in Service

Later man,

Steady :cool::cool::cool:

Thanks Stready, your comments are much appriciated. Moving to Alaska was an easy decision for me. We are family again. We visited the city of North Pole several years ago. Within is Santa Claus village. You may of received a letter from Santa in your earlier youth:).

Effective today I am 50% C and 50% S. It should be a good day for us. Bluehenge has had a better record by being in the G fund. Good luck to Grandma too, along with the other 300# members on the Tracker.

I believe there are more Vietnam Veterans in Alaska than any other state. There was a mass migration to Alaska in the early 1970s - even thought about going there myself. They just wanted to escape the stigma placed on them by fools.

I have talked to many Vietnam veterans that came here in the 1960s and 1970s on military assignment. They stayed here. Others moved here upon release from military. Yes many weren't treated well upon return to the states; they were just during their duty. I was reasigned to Hawaii and didn't suffer any resentment.

My TSP as of right now. Moved from #99 to #44 on the tracker. About an hour ago, I thought all my gain would be lost today. It may still happen, hope not.

Off topic: Last night my daughter bought home two boxes of fresh Krispy Kreme donuts. Those donuts arn't sold anywhere in Alaska. I didn't think the four of us could eat all those donuts last night but we tried.

It was screwed up -- undoubtedly the worse time ever for anyone enlisted -- especially them. Many still aren't treated well because they've dealt with it for so long they honestly don't know that the dreams and nightmares, the night sweats, the hyper virulence, the super alert mode, startle response and so many other things that hugely impact on both their own life and all their relationships are aspects that are highly treatable -- and respond very well to people that know what they're doing.

Still they got shafted from both Society and the Military (Government at Large) and that's a hard thing to get over.

I'm really glad things turned out better for you -- you're very fortunate Handballer.
