Handballer's Account Talk

Unfortunately sugarandspice will undoubtedly bump you from your #83 tracker spot by the end of the week. Did you notice how fast amoeba took on the Tokyo Drift down to #184.

BirchMan, beware: I may move further up the tracker today and pass you. I'm sitting at #83 again at the moment.:D

New IFT today to be effective within 2 business days. Its like this

G - reduced to 21%
F - remains 0%
C - increased to 32%
S - increased to 41%
I - remains 6%

One IFT remains this month and I plan to use it. Just going with the flow.:ban: from losing any more money.

IFT #7 for this month processed today. Going

G - 78%

C - 10%
S - 10%
I - 2%

Just reducing my risk but hoping for more gains.

Consider the fact that G fund is beating I by .17% YTD, not the sort of returns we were used to seeing from I.

Yeah, that's true. I'm just wondering how long these good gains in the S are gonna last.... More and more folks getting skeptical about returns after April and the rest of 2010.

The good news is that small caps, which led on the way up, could conceivably lead on the way down during the next serious correction - we usually get one 10% or better per year.

Yes we do [usually get one 10% or better per year] but we went 5 1/2 years without one between early 2003 and late 2008.

I hope we don't get another stretch like that again for a long time. I'd prefer a predictable market with annual 10% corrections to buy. Is that too much to ask? :D

Agreed, it's hard to beat the market when you don't get the chance to buy the non-existing dips.

In effect 4/6th I will be out of G and F, into C-45%, S-35%, and I-20%. This week and next, the more I withdraw from CSI, the sainer I will become.

It won't happen this week but next week for shore. At the present time, I feel good about making money.

I see three stars beside my account. Thanks for your interest but I don't have much to offer in the way of smarts in investing. I owe my near 6% gain so far this year to those that present their views on TSP Talk. And for that I am very much appreciate it.

Still holding CSI. Yesterday, 4/13th, only a very few of us showed no gain  or loss for the day.

Next week I will be travelling to a small town close to Nellis AFB. I plan to reduce my holdings in CSI and put the remainder in L2020 rather than G or F funds. Any thoughts on using the L2020 for a short time?

Returned from my trip with less funds then started with. Now I see I slipped from #114 to #146 on the Tracker.

Doin the <1% shuffle, increased the C, S, and L2020 funds by a %. No change to F and I funds.

That's because you fought the trend. There's still some left if you wanna pick up some scraps. :)

I was away on a trip and did not keep up with the news. I went from 100% fully invested to a more comfortable position in case the market craped. I have used too many IFTs this month and all I can do til the end of April is another <1% which I intend to do. Next month I hope to move more % out of G but not too much. Being fully retired, I can't afford to lose sense I am a retired FERS worker.
