G Fund Payday

Well tomorrow has to be a better day at least for the G Fund.

It is getting sad looking for 1 cent but right now after dealing with the I Fund/S Fund I went to the F which did OK.

I won't get rich in the G but it's safe for now. THX for the info !!!

Looking ahead, in case you're interested, my calcs show the "official" predicted next penny payout on Tuesday 2/19 (Monday the 18th is a holiday). However, the calcs are so close on the previous Friday (2/15), that I would guess the odds of going ahead and paying on 2/15 at maybe 90% or more and only about a 10% or less odds of the payout being delayed until 2/19. Therefore, I am changing my predicted payout day to Friday, the 15th.

Aahhh, remember the day when tracking the G-penny was hardly worth the effort...
...back when it was paying out every 4-5 days...
:suspicious:
...Now see us all scramble for "payday" every 8.5 days.

Looking ahead, the next predicted G Fund payday is on Monday, March 3rd.

If the payout is every 8.5 days but is it possible that tomorrow 2/29/08 would be the G Fund payout since it is usually 4 payouts per month. Before the last payout there was 11 days. There were only 3 payouts during February. If it paid tomorrow in the 7 day range then it would set up 4 payouts in March and give is 4 payouts in February.

What are the odds the G Fund pays tomorrow ?:suspicious:

I'm with presskh. I show it paying Monday.

What happened to the 4-digit calculation they were going to start using so that the G paid daily or every other day instead of weekly? As I remember that was approved months ago, but I haven't seen it happen yet.
They're waiting to bundle those upgrades with the IFT limitation "upgrade" contract.

Looking ahead, the next predicted payday should be on Wednesday 3/12/08 (>75% chance), with a small chance (<25%) of paying on Tuesday 3/11/08. The new per annum rate for March is a whopping 3.375%.

I can't remember the last time it took 8 working days to post a penny.
IMO, the penny will come on Tuesday and I give a <1% chance on Wed.
Could the return rate have dropped so low, as to justify a Wed. penny?
We'll just have to wait and see.

I show it paying on Tuesday with a slight chance of Wednesday.

350z could be right. It just depends where your calcs were on the last pay day. Assuming the new 3.375% rate kicked in on March 1, my calcs have it most likely paying on Wednesday. Can anyone confirm that the new rates kick in on the first day of the month or is it the first business day? Also, it seems like I remember seeing somewhere on this board that the TSP calcs are carried out to 10 decimal places. I have not been able to confirm this anywhere on the web - can any of you guys confirm this? Since I use the default EXCEL 14 decimal places in my calcs, I will reset it to 10 if it is true.

Thanks.

I don't know exactly when the new rate takes affect, but I've been assuming the first business.

I've seen the paper that said TSP calculations are carried out to 10 decimal places. Somebody posted it in the I fund section. It's under section: § 1645.5 Calculation of share prices.
