G Fund Payday

Sombody asked earlier today how do you know what day the "G" pays out- how often it does, etc.

I can't find the thread where that question was asked now, but here is the answer to that question (and then follow the messages after this one).

Looks like the G fund payout went to 4% for December (was 4.5%). Question - anyone know if the new rate was effective on the first day of the month (a Saturday) or was its effectivity delayed until the first business day of the month (a Monday)?

There is no "official" posting. Several individuals on this website track the historical payout dates and posted rate of return for the G-fund and "predict" very accurately when the payout date will be. That is what you will find here. Supposedly, in the near future, the G-fund (and presumeably the other funds as well) will start paying partial pennies so that there will no longer be a specific penny-pay-day. Until then, here's the place to be.

It did pay on Monday. We have the same situation next week (should pay on Tuesday 1/14 but good odds it could pay on Monday 1/13) - very close call again.
