Frixxxx's Account Talk!

CCW instructors, really don't recommend the purse, because alot of times that is the first thing the BG's grab, especially in a snatch and grab scenario. It's a tough call when confronted like that.

I Know,

My Cousin has lived in New York City (NEW YORK CITY?!?) for 15 years now....she has a "tuck-in" purse for her bra....

It holds her rings, bracelets, credit cards, and cash.

Her purse is for the other crap women carry around.

When she goes somewhere, she puts on her jewelry in the bathroom upon arrival, and then does a "potty check" when she leaves.

That way, they just get some makeup and some crap if they snatch and grab her.

Frixxxx: - thanx for the update! It must be quite gratifying to see that, whether by osmosis or direct teaching, she has surely been led by her dad!

Sorry to hear what happened to your daughter.

I have another event to report. In Ohio a friends 86 year old mother was beaten nearly to death in a home invasion last week. Three thugs got jewelry and money and left her for dead. She managed to get to the other side of the house to wake up her husband (90 yrs old) and is bruised but recovering. The police caught two of the thugs with the third arrest emanate and arrested the girlfriends who had the jewelry on them. As I hear of more and more of these thiefs and attacks, I have to wonder where the disconnect is with the improving economy and the desperation of the thieves.

I believe that the economy is another stressor that people need to deal with. It is the "easy" way out. I would eat from dumpsters and garbage pails before I would steal from a brother or sister.

I believe that the majority of crimes are done in the "self-indulgent" aspect rather than out of necessity. This is the evil that exists today. We rarely refer to it by its name, but it is Greed. A deadly sin/evil that can cause some to lose their life in the practice as such, by stealing from those who have earned it from themselves.

I have and will pray for your friends and I wish them all the best. I will pray for you and support you in your time of need.

Your mention of these people alone is a caring that can only be rewarded by our Father! God Bless!

I wish it were that easy to explain Malyla -- but it's not.

Medicaid Fraud -- has nothing to do with the economy and the lure by thieves -- it is wholly the ease by which money can be obtained and essentially having nothing within you to stop it.

For these people -- getting money or anything of monetary value is the reward -- and that reward goes way beyond any sensitivity for the victim's feelings or being remotely bothered that the government has to pay....

There are tons and tons of people that would kill for a very trivial amount ..... the ones like your story who randomly kick in the doors and 'luck out' with some older couple -- all the more know the resistence will be minimal and they walk out with a catch.

As these events become more common place all of us will see that it is not the 'economic circumstances' responsible for this growing 'heartless and irreprehensible behavior' it is that all the values by which society had in the days of old -- have crumbed and disappeared.

AMEN -- Brother Frixxxx -- you put it well !!

All I will say here is legalize Concealed Carry and preserve the 2nd Amendment.

These type of crimes drop dramactically in states that have done this.

Malyla - I, too, am really sorry to hear about your friends. The type of action/behavior those guys exhibited most probably did not have anything to do with the economy one way or another. They are just mean, down-right ugly mean!
I hope recovery emotionally goes well, also, just knowing the perps have been/are being caught should help some of the victims' relief.

Going into Lurking mode.

Will post when ready.

I have some soul searching to attend to and it has gotten a little noisy here.

God Bless, Happy Investing:cool:

Frixxxx

Lock me out!

Well what a ride in the market,

I switched to 60% C - 40% S while I was away,

Buying in on the lows today is nice.

Let's see some green.

Got my mess dress for my Air Force ball (next weekend) all straightened out, and now my wife wants to date me!!!

Good luck investors!

Your friend,

Frixxxx

Thanxxxx Alevin,

On another note, could we see 1100 today on that Stubborn S&P?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I like the 1100 mark, we need to stick it.

If we do, we are in a run, bull run.

Chartists are licking their lips in the trend movement and that is a good sign.

I think you will see a ton of money move in to the market driven by a fear of missing out this week.

Oil has not been increasing over 80 and until someone actually turns of the pumps in the Middle East, I don't see a crisis brewing there.

The Dow loves this stuff. But Since I don't invest on the DOW, I'm consoled to watch my S&P and Wilshire.

60% C, 40% S

TSPTALK Question - I know I can ignore users, but can I ignore the threads they post to as well?

JTH/Coolhand keep up the good work on the blogs.

Birch - If you get 13K by years end I'll send you the matching bracelet for that necklace!

Have a great day all!

If you "ignore" a User, what does this entail?
Click on the user's name in a thread.
Under User's list
Select "Add to ignore list"

I think if a user is added to more than 15 ignore lists, you should be warned, 20, you should be banned.

Okay - but does that mean I wont even "see" the User? Or they wont "see me - or both?

You will see that they have posted, but you won't have to see the drivel in the post.

Try it on your favorite person and review the results:cool:!

I agree. I have read some really crazy stuff lately on this MB with threads going majorly off topic. I have chosen to avoid reading tsptalk for awhile hoping it would settle down, but I miss the information sharing (not the punditry). Maybe if the ignore lists was used to personalize our lurking experiences by ignoring some threads and some members, then it would be used more? My TV has been programmed to skip over FOX News when i serf;). Not the end of my lurking if this does not happen - it's become an addition:D
